Heather Hardy Has Fallen In Love With MMA
Pro boxer Heather Hardy made her professional MMA debut at Bellator 180 and finished Alice Yauger with strikes late in the third round.
With her pro MMA debut now behind her, the female boxing stars has admitted that she is now in love with the sport of MMA.
“I think I just fell in love,” Hardy said after the event. “I just worked so hard, and now I can say I did it too. A lot of people said I couldn’t do it or I wouldn’t do it. And I did.”
Hardy was supposed to fight on the Bellator.com portion of the preliminary card, but wound up fighting on Spike TV after another fight was pulled from the card.
Despite her new found love for MMA, fans shouldn’t expect Hardy to leave the sport that made her a combat sports star.
“I’ll never leave boxing,” Hardy said. “There are girls I still want to fight in boxing. It’s not something I plan on walking away from. … I can’t wait to practice some new stuff. I’m learning.”
The former pro boxer was just one of two fighters who made their professional MMA debut that night, the boxer was also the only one of the two to win their pro debut.
