Tony Khan Says He’s Open To Having ROH Tapings In Orlando Again, But Likes Pairing With AEW Collision

Tony Khan discusses the possibility of moving ROH back to Orlando for tapings.

During the early days of ROH Television, the brand held a series of bulk tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. Sometimes matches were taped in conjunction with AEW television events, but with only AEW Dynamite as the regularly scheduled live show, most matches were taped in bulk in Orlando.

With the addition of AEW Collision to the weekly schedule, ROH has taped matches in conjunction with Collision.

Speaking at the ROH Death Before Dishonor media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of ROH returning to Orlando.

“I’m very open to utilizing studio tapings, but I think there is a lot of benefits to having the ROH crew traveling with the Collision crew. You’re seeing people get opportunities, really rising stars,” Tony said before mentioning Action Andretti and Darius Martin.

“When you have great stars like that on ROH, they can get involved with Collision and it really helps everybody. With Collision, I’m focused on that show, but I also have this great crew and am focused on ROH in terms of week-to-week-to-week long-term storytelling. On this pay-per-view you saw firsthand that you have long-term ideas that you think out, but things can change them,” he said.

Tony previously mentioned that Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe were slated to be involved with ROH Death Before Dishonor, but Kingston wanted to compete in the NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament while Mark suffered a knee injury.

“As we look at it, I’d be open to going back there, but I really like doing it at Collision. There are veteran stars and when you have top names that can appear on both, I think that’s great. I probably wouldn’t change much because Saturdays have gone really well, and part of that has been shooting the ROH shows,” he concluded.

ROH champions such as Samoa Joe and Athena have appreared on recent episodes of AEW Collision.
