AEW Dynamite (7/12/23) Preview: Tournament Action, Blood & Guts News, Nick Wayne Debuts, And More

It’s Wednesday, July 12, 2023, and you know what that means!

It’s time to break down the July 12 episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

This week’s episode features a lot of tournament action once again in both the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Women’s Tournament and the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament. Plus, we will learn more about Blood & Guts.

Here’s everything you need to know before tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

Blood & Guts Participants To Be Revealed

On July 19, The Elite & Blackpool Combat Club will clash in the most violent setting available in AEW, Blood & Guts. However, injuries and more have led to both of these factions meeting one more partner before stepping inside of the double-ring steel cage at the TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts. Fans will be waiting with bated breath to see who will round out both teams and these members will be revealed on July 12, just in time to give fans one week to ponder all of the possibilities for the upcoming clash in what will be a match beyond normal limits.

Nick Wayne Debuts Against A Very Ready Swerve Strickland

18-year-old wrestling prodigy Nick Wayne makes his AEW debut against Swerve Strickland. While some in the audience may not be familiar with Wayne’s meteoric rise in wrestling, Swerve is very familiar with Wayne and what he can do between the ropes. You only get a one shot at a first impression and Nick Wayne is looking to completely blow the AEW fans away. Strickland, however, is looking to rebound after a major loss last week in the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament and has no problems about taking his anger out on the young Wayne.

Who will stand tall and just what is next for Nick Wayne? AEW Dynamite on July 12 will provide answers to these questions and more.

Chris Jericho Clashes With Komander

Chris Jericho will take on Komander in singles action. Jericho is at a crossroads in his career with the Chris Jericho Appreciation Society’s future uncertain and a spot to join Don Callis’ family, Jericho will tap into a staple of his time in WCW and compete against a thriving luchador to gain momentum. The next chapter in the book of Jericho will be written on July 12.

Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament Matches

The Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament gets continues on July 12.

Continuing their Odd Couple pairing, MJF and Adam Cole will look to further advance in the tournament against the massive tandem of Brian Cage & Big Bill. In the other match in the tournament, Darby Allin teams with Orange Cassidy against the Jericho Appreciation Society duo of Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara. With several pillars of the AEW roster in this tournament still, the AEW World Tag Team Championship scene continues to heat up.

Ruby Soho vs. Skye Blue In Owen Hart Cup Semi-Finals

With either Athena or Willow Nightingale waiting in the wings, Ruby Soho clashes with Skye Blue to determine the first finalist in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament. Ruby is still looking to write a wrong from last year’s tournament while Skye Blue is looking to channel the energy of a young Owen Hart and make a name for herself in a major tournament just as he did back in 1994 when he won the WWE King of the Ring crown.
