– After video promos from Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs ahead of their matches for the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Invitational Tournament, Kevin Kelly & Nigel McGuinness welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning into the opening segment. 

– CM Punk came to the ring to cut a promo on ringside. Punk detailed some history ahead of his bout against Samoa Joe later in the night, calling it the biggest match of his career. After 18 years since his last match against the current ROH Television Champion, Punk asked the crowd to chant in honor of the late & great Owen Hart, saying that no one in the locker room would be here if it was not for Owen Hart. 

– After that promo, there was a video package hyping up Samoa Joe vs CM Punk, specifically detailing their historic feud between the two from Ring of Honor ahead of their encounter later in the night. 

Owen Hart Foundation Tourney- Semi-Final.

Ricky Starks vs. Powerhouse Hobbs (w/ QT Marshall, Aaron Solow & Harley Cameron of QTV).

The opening contest began with Hobbs pushing Starks onto the mat. Hobbs continued to break Starks’s offense with pushes before attacking Starks’s back and catching him with a body shot in the corner. Hobbs tossed Starks into the apron, but Starks slid back to the ring before clotheslining Hobbs out of the ring. Hobbs got back in the ring and caught Starks with a lariat before stomping Starks in the neck. Hobbs continued to fire away at Starks in the corner with punches, dominating the early proceedings of the match before hitting a Vertical Suplex on Starks, followed by an Irish Whip into the bottom turnbuckle. The QTV Crew continued to interfere in the bout, allowing Hobbs to manhandle Starks in the ring before catching Starks with a Powerslam for a near fall.

Hobbs locked in a waist lock on Starks, but Starks evaded the hold and fired away with strikes on Hobbs before Hobbs caught him with a knee lift. Starks hit a toe kick and a lariat on Hobbs, but the former TNT Champion responded by slamming Starks into the corner and catching him with a series of lariats in the corner. Hobbs got on the top rope with Starks and went for an Avalanche Fireman’s Carry, but Starks rolled over and hit a Powerbomb on Hobbs for a near fall. Starks caught Hobbs with another Toe Kick before hitting a Tornado DDT on Hobbs. Stark ran the ropes, but QT Marshall pulled Starks’s foot. Hobbs hit a Spinebuster on Starks and went for the pin, but QT Marshall distracted the referee. Hobbs told Marshalll to sit his as down, but Starks responded by pushing Hobbs onto Marshall before catching him with a Spear for the pinfall win.

Winner: Ricky Starks.

– After the match, QT Marshall tried to talk with Powerhouse Hobbs after costing him the match. Hobbs responded by pushing Marshall onto the mat. Hobbs stared daggers at Marshall before Aaron Solow got in the ring, but Hobbs caught Solow and hit a vicious Spinebuster on Solow. Harley Cameron tried to stop Hobbs from attacking Marshall, which led to Hobbs storming out of the ring. 

– Miro cut a promo backstage saying that he was ready to fight anyone because no one can hurt a man who cannot feel love. Miro said that he must be what his god was not before saying that there was a war coming, and it’s the one “we’ve all been waiting for”.

– Willow Nightingale was interviewed backstage by Tony Schiavone to address her injuring sidelining her from tonight, but Athena confronted her and talked trash to Willow. Willow said that she was planning on winning the Owen Hart Tournament and maybe getting a shot at Athena’s ROH Women’s Championship. Athena said that she will entertain the idea if she wins.

– There was a video package hyping up the Blood & Guts Match between The Elite & The Blackpool Combat Club on the 7/19/2023 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Julia Hart (w/ Brody King) vs. Bambi Hall.

Hart & Hall locked up before Hall backed Hart into the corner before Hart caught Hall with kicks on the thigh, but Hall responded with a shoulder tackle. Hart tripped Hall and caught her with a series of strikes, a slap, and a Question Mark Kick before catching her with a back elbow. Hall hit two chops and a forearm strike on Hart, but Hart rolled over and hit a chop block before locking. in The Hart-less lock for the submission win.

Winner: Julia Hart.

– There was a vignette of Malakai Black addressing stealing Andrade El Idolo’s mask. Black said that he also uses a mask because the mask was Black’s home while Andrade had the mask was the reason for his success, but Black argued by saying that his strength came without it. 

– After that vignette, Andrade El Idolo was interviewed backstage by Lexy Nair. Andrade said that he did not hide behind a mask because he was not a coward like Malakai Black. Andrade said the mask he uses represents his family & tradition, and stated that when he takes his mask off to fight before declaring that he fights until death. 

AEW Tag Team Championship – Eliminator Match.

FTR (Dax Hardwood & Cash Wheeler) (c) vs. Bullet Club Gold (“Switchblade” Jay White & “ROCK HARD” Juice Robinson).

Dax & White began the match locking up before Dax pushed White into the corner. The two locked up again before Dax went for a Lateral Press, but White kicked out before heading to the corner. Dax got White in a headlock before catching him with a shoulder tackle, a hip toss, and another headlock takeover on White until White got a rope break. Juice & Wheeler tagged in before Juice got a wrist lock on Wheeler, but Wheeler evaded the hold before hitting a Fireman Carry Takeover on Juice. Juice evaded the hold and ran the ropes before catching Cash with two shoulder tackles, but Cash responded with a Leapfrog before hitting a Reverse Monkey Flip on Juice to send him to the outside. White tagged in and attacked Cash before sending Cash into the ropes, but Cash slid under the ring before catching White & Juice back in the ring. The two teams exchanged punches before FTR hit Stereo German Suplexes on White & Robinson to send them to the outside. 

The two teams brawled on the outside before Cash & White got back in the ring. Cash & Dax double-teamed White in the center of the ring, with the Tag Team Champions dominating the proceedings of the bout until Juice Robinson tagged in. Robinson caught Dax with a suplex for a near fall. Juice & Dax exchanged vicious chops until Dax hit a lariat on Juice, followed by Dax dumping Cash into a leg Drop on Juice for a near fall. Cash caught Robinson flush with a dropkick, but Robinson kicked out at two. Cash & Robinson exchanged chops before Juice bit Wheeler in the eyebrow. Juice hit a series of punches, but Wheeler caught him with an Atomic Drop before firing away with punches on Juice in the corner. Juice got out of the punching series. Wheeler hit an Uppercut on Juice, but Juice responded by hitting a Flapjack on Wheeler into the top rope to send him to the outside. White & Juice gained control of the bout, with Juice hitting a Senton on Wheeler for a near fall.

White tagged back in and locked in a Waist lock on Wheeler before transitioning into the Muta Lock, but Dax broke the hold by chopping Dax in the abdomen. White responded by immediately attacking Dax on the outside. White got back in the ring and went for a Suplex, but Wheeler reversed it with an Inside Cradle for a near fall. White hit a gut kick on Wheeler before catching him with an uppercut and a suplex on Wheeler into the corner. Robinson & White continued to beat down Wheeler in the match before White went for a Saito Suplex on Cash, but Cash reversed it mid-move with a crossbody. Robinson distracted Dax, allowing White to send him flying into the barricade. Wheeler clotheslined Juice to the outside, but White tossed Wheeler to the outside with a Bandera toss. Juice & White continued to dominate proceedings, but Cash evaded that by hitting a belly-to-belly suplex on Juice.

White tried to attack Cash, but Cash evaded and tagged in White. Dax hit jabs on White & Robinson before hitting a suplex on White & a suplex on Juice onto White. Dax got an inside cradle on White before hitting a Corner Splash, a duet of German Suplexes and a Brainbuster on White for a near fall. Dax got White on the top turnbuckle and caught him with a chop, but Juice dropped him with a headbutt. Juice & Wheeler brawled on the apron before Wheeler caught Juice with a Release Back Suplex onto the apron. White tried to go for a splash, but Dax caught him with a Jab before he & Cash hit a Superplex/ Frog Splash combo on White for a near fall. Cash tagged in, but Juice caught Cash with a jab before White caught him with a Sleeper Suplex.

FTR went for the Big Rig, but Juice blocked it. Dax did the blind tag before Dax & Cash hit an Assisted Piledriver on White for a near fall. Juice slammed Cash into the ring post before Juice tagged in and went for a DDT, but Dax evaded. Juice hit Dax with a Gut Buster before White hit the Regal Plex on Dax for a near fall. Cash slammed Juice onto White and tossed Juice out of the ring, but White caught him with a Uranage. White went for a Uranage on Dax, but Dax evaded and hit a Slingshot Powerbomb followed by a forearm strike on White for a near fall. Juice caught Dax with a Leg Lariat, but Cash caught him with a Powerslam before eating a Blade Runner from White. Dax & White exchanged chops before Dax went for a back suplex, but White evaded. Dx got an O’Connor Roll on White, but Juice did the blind tag before hitting Pulp Fricton for the pinfall win.

Winners: Bullet Club Gold (“Switchblade” Jay White & “ROCK HARD” Juice Robinson).

– There was a video package of Shawn Spears, Christian Cage & Luchasaurus ahead of their match next week on Battle of The Belts.

– AEW Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Hardwood & Cash Wheeler) were interviewed by Tony Schiavone backstage, but they were interrupted by Jay White & Juice Robinson. White & Robinson challenged Hardwood & Wheeler to a 2/3 Falls Match next week for the titles next week.

Scorpio Sky vs. Action Andretti.

Sky made his in-ring debut by locking in a headlock on Andretti before catching him with a shoulder tackle. Andretti ran the ropes, but Sky caught him with an ankle lock but Andretti transitioned into a hammerlock. Sky evaded the hold with a Snap-mare, an arm drag & La Magistral on Andretti for a near fall. Andretti hit. n arm drag takedown on Sky, but Sky evaded the hold before hitting a vicious Double Stomp on Andretti’s back. 

Sky hit a knee drop on Andretti before locking in a headlock on Andretti. Andretti slammed Sky into he corner before hitting a shoulder block on the corner and attempting an Irish Whip, but Sky reversed it by slamming Andretti with an Irish Whip of his own before hitting a side back breaker on Andretti for a near fall. Sy picked Andretti back up and hit another back breaker on Andretti for a near fall before transitioning into locking in a Reverse Cravat on Andretti. 

Andretti flipped out of the hold before hitting a toe kick, a forearm strike, the back breaker/ neck breaker combo & a back flip back elbow on Sky to send him to the outside. Andretti caught Sky flush on the outside with a Tope Suicida before getting SKy back in the ring and attempting a Shooting Star Press, but Sky evaded before Andretti caught Sky with a Running Spanish Fly for a near fall. Sky went for a Back slide on Sky, but Andretti evaded and hit a Thrust kick followed by a shotgun dropkick before going for the Split-Legged Moonsault, but Sky blocked it. Andretti locked in the Mouse Trap on Sky, but Sky kicked out before hitting the TKO for the pinfall win.

Winner: Scorpio Sky.

Owen Hart Foundation Tourney- Semi-Final.

CM Punk vs Samoa Joe.

The blockbuster main event began with Samoa Joe attempting a roundhouse kick on CM Punk, but CM Punk evaded before getting to the corner. The two locked up before Joe went for a chop on Punk, but Punk ducked before hitting a chop on Joe. Punk hit another chop on Joe before Joe went for another chop, but Punk ducked yet again. The two locked up again for the test of strength, but Punk broke the lock by hitting a chop on Punk. Joe went for a chop yet again, but Punk evaded once again before locking in a headlock on Joe. Punk hit a shoulder tackle on Joe’s shoulder while on a wrist lock before locking in a headlock on Joe, but Joe backed Punk into the corner before going for another chop, but punk evaded again before hitting a series of jabs and a chop on Joe. Punk got on the middle rope and went for the crossbody, but Joe walked out of the way before officially beginning the Chopping Party on Punk.

Joe hit a chop to the back, a chop to the chest, and a roundhouse kick on Punk’s chest before firing away with a series of punches on Punk in the corner. Punk hit two chops and a forearm strike on Joe, but Joe caught him with a vicious back elbow in response. Punk hit a back elbow on Joe before climbing to the top rope, but Joe caught him flush by chopping him out of the ring, busting Punk’s mouth open. Joe got outside and fired away with chops and punches on Punk before tossing him into the barricade. Punk & Joe continued to brawl on the outside before Punk hit a Lariat on Joe off the apron.

Back in the ring, Joe & Punk got back in the ring before Joe hit a back elbow on Punk. Joe locked in a neck twist on Punk before slamming him onto the mat attempting a knee drop, but Punk evaded before hitting a combination of forearm strikes and chops. Punk hit a Scissor Kick on Joe before catching him with a Rising Knee into the corner. Punk went for the Bulldog, but Joe reversed it by locking in the Coquina Clutch, but Punk broke the hold by hitting a Back Suplex on Joe. The two bitter rivals exchanged strikes before Punk went for a Roundhouse Kick, but Joe caught him with a series of quick jabs. Punk caught Joe with a boot kick before hitting three Rising Knees followed by a lariat before climbing to the top rope and hitting an Elbow Drop on Joe for a near fall.

Punk went for a GTS on Joe, but Joe reversed it with a Crossface on Punk. Joe had the hold locked in deep, but Punk was able to break the hold with a drop break. Joe hit a pair of Koata Kicks before going for a Powerbomb, but Punk evaded before attempting a roundhouse kick. Joe evaded the kick before hitting a Powerslam on Punk for a near fall. Joe got Punk back up, but Punk caught him flush with a vicious roundhouse kick for a near fall. Punk climbed to the top rope and went for a DDT, but Joe blocked it it. Punk went for a Tornado DDT on Joe but Joe blocked it before he attempted the Coquina Clutch again on Punk, but Punk reversed it with a Victory Roll for the pinfall win.

Winner: CM Punk.

– After the match, Samoa Joe extended his hand to CM Punk, which CM Punk obliged. The two shook hands, but Joe pulled CM Punk right into a Coquina Clutch before shouting at Punk that he has always been better than CM Punk. Samoa Joe got a chair, but FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Hardwood) came to the ring to make the save. Ricky Starks watched along from the ramp before the end of the broadcast.
