Darby Allin Says Sting Is ‘Doing Great’ After Ladder Dive, ‘Those Aren’t My Ideas, It’s All Him’
Sting has taken his fair share of bumps throughout his time in AEW, but arguably none were scarier than his dive off a ladder to the outside and through tables on the June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Sting didn’t quite catch the body of Sammy Guevara on the dive, hitting more of the legs and coming up short, and fans were worried how he was doing after the dive. Fortunately, Sting was able to finish the match, even picking up the victory for himself and Darby Allin against Guevara & Chris Jericho.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Allin gave an update on Sting.
“He’s actually doing great. We talked the day after and he said he’s feeling great, which is awesome because I pulled him aside after that match and said, ‘be honest with me, how are you feeling? Not just your mouth, but your neck, every single thing about your body.’ People forget that he retired in 2014 when he took a buckle bomb. For him to be going as hard. Trust me, it’s none of my ideas. It’s all him. ‘Alright, is there a ladder here tonight? I’ll jump off it.’ A lot of people think it’s me being the bad influence, but no, it’s him. He has that hunger and that want to give the fans something. He’s feeling great and I’m stoked,” said Allin.
Sting has jumped off balconies and stages since returning to the ring for AEW.
Speaking after AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Sting gave an update on his potential retirement. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
Allin will team with Orange Cassidy to take on Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee as part of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.
