WWE Raw (7/3/23) Results: Women’s World Title Match, Money In The Bank Fallout, More

WWE Raw – July 3 

  • Women’s World Champion: Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya

– The show opens with a video package recapping the events of WWE Money in the Bank. 

– Seth Rollins lets the crowd sing his theme song. He also recaps Money in the Bank. He mentions that SummerSlam is five weeks away, and out comes Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes tries to talk for 5 seconds, and Brock Lesnar comes out. They brawl, and Rhodes drops Lesnar with the Cody Cutter. Raw goes to commercial. 

When they come back, Seth is still in the squared circle and tries to once again talk about SummerSlam when Judgment Day interrupts him. Dominik Mysterio, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley interrupt him. Seth asks where Finn Balor is. They tell him not to be concerned about that. Priest says he should be concerned with the fact that he holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. Priest teases cashing in tonight. Rollins says Priest would have a better chance cashing in if Rollins actually had a match tonight. Damian and Ripley talk Dom into a match with Rollins tonight. Ripley literally has to say it for him. Seth lets the people decide, and of course, they want to see the match. The match is made official.

Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

When the bell rings, they lock up. They trade submissions before Priest hits a right hand. Nakamura strikes his jaw with a series of knees. Priest answers with a forearm, then stomps in the corner before setting up for a suplex. Nakamura escapes and hits a knee to Priest’s abdomen, knocking him to the ground. Nakamura then throws him face-first against the barricade at the timekeeper’s section. He is then slammed into the barricade by Priest. Nakamura unleashes a barrage of strikes. Nakamura plants him with a leg sweep, then kicks him. Priest catches Nakamura with a right hand and sets up for South Of Heaven. Nakamura counters into a roll-up. Nakamura attempts an armbar, but Priest counters with a spinning heel kick. He prepares for Razor’s Edge, but Nakamura hits a middle rope Kinshasa. He goes for a proper Kinshasa, but Damian counters it, hits him with a Pepsi Twist, and drops him with South of Heaven for the victory.

Winner: Damian Priest

– A video recaps Shayna Baszler turning on Ronda Rousey at WWE Money in the Bank. Rousey comes out. Baszler immediately says that she opened the door for Ronda to come to WWE and that Ronda took the easy way out. Baszler says that she owes people an apology for bringing Rousey into the industry. She says that she’s good enough to take Ronda down. Ronda kicks her, and they brawl. They exchange submission holds. Baszler ends the scuffle with a kick, but Ronda tells her to get back here because they’re not done.

– Backstage, Maxxine Dupri has Otis in a headlock. She will have her first match tonight as Alpha Academy battles Viking Raiders in six-person action. 

– Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez come out. A Tag Team Turmoil Match is next. 

Tag Team Turmoil: Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville vs. Nikki Cross & Emma vs. Dana Brooke & Tegan Nox vs. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae

To start off, Hartwell takes it to Sonya. Candice tags in, and they get a near fall with a double team. Chelsea eventually tags in, and the way is quickly eliminated by way of a Chelsea Green Unprettier. 

Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae were eliminated by Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville. 

Nikki Cross comes in hot, attacking Chelsea. However, she runs away to tend to Candice when she realizes that Candice is hurt. This leaves Emma by herself. She does a good job of handling Chelsea Green on her own, but eventually, the numbers game catches up. Cross is still concerned about LeRae on the outside, and Emma gets eliminated with an Unprettier. 

Emma & Nikki Cross were eliminated by Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville. 

Tegan Nox attacks Chelsea as she and Dana come in next. Raw goes to commercial with them in charge, but during the break Chelsea and Sonya take control once again. Tegan Nox and Dana Brooke are eliminated just before the end of the picture-in-picture break as Deville hits a Running Knee and pins Nox. So, it comes down to Deville & Green vs. Carter & Chance

Tegan Nox & Dana Brooke were eliminated by Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville.

Carter & Chance hit a number of tandem maneuvers, including Chance giving Chelsea a Frankensteiner off of the shoulders of Carter while they were both on the top rope. However, Deville is able to quickly prevent Carter and Chance from hitting their finisher. Chelsea Green hits another Unprettier for the final elimination. Chelsea & Sonya deliver a clean sweep. They have earned an opportunity at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. 

Winners: Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville. 

– A video recaps the Raw portion of the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match and the ongoing issues between Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark. Becky Lynch will be in the arena.

– A Bronson Reed video package airs. 

– Becky Lynch comes out and talks about losing the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. She says she wants to end things with Zoey Stark and Trish Stratus once and for all. Trish comes out revealing she has a “broken face” and is wearing a mask that is reminiscent of her face mask from 2004 when Lita broke her nose at Survivor Series. She tiptoes around Becky Lynch’s challenge and says that Zoey will face her next week. 

– Cody Rhodes is interviewed by the debuting Jackie Redmond. He says he will fight Brock Lesnar any night and every night. Monday Night Raw is not big enough for the two of them. 

Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis, & Maxxine Dupri) vs. Viking Raiders (Erik, Ivar, Valhalla)

Chad Gable starts out the match with Erik. Otis tags in. He keeps control and hits the Caterpillar as the show goes into a commercial break. The Vikings eventually take control as Ivar drops Otis on the outside. Erik tags back in and tries for a quick cover, but no luck. Ivar back in quickly. Otis is isolated as the ring is cut in half by the heels. After many minutes of both teams fighting each other, Gable is forced to bring in Maxxine Dupri. Dupri uses hip tosses to fling Valhalla around the ring. Dupri’s suplex. Dupri tries to eat the caterpillar, but Valhalla annihilates her with a rushing knee to the face. Gable eliminates Erik and Ivar with a moonsault from the top of the ring. Dupri is pushed into a corner by Valhalla. Dupri wins by going up and over into a sunset flip on Valhalla.

Winners: Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis, & Maxxine Dupri) 

– Footage is shown of Logan Paul and Ricochet fighting after the Money in the Bank match on Sunday. Ricochet tells Jackie Redmond that he wants to see Logan Paul face-to-face next week. 

Women’s World Champion: Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya

Natalya jumps Ripley during her entrance. She takes the fight to her for several minutes, but eventually, Ripley battles back. Ripley dominates and goes for a top-rope superplex. Nattie counters and hits a crossbody from the top. Both women begin exchanging strikes. Ripley gets the advantage with a knee and hit a dropkick for a two-count as the show cuts to commercial. Natalya is kicked in the face by Ripley. Ripley tries a powerbomb, Nattie flips it into a Rana. Ripley gets nailed with Discus Lariat. Ripley kicks out Ripley hits a missile dropkick. Ripley strikes Nattie in the head and sets up the Prism Lock. Natalya gets out, pushing Ripley into a corner. Ripley  tries a frog splash, and Nattie counters. Natalya unleashes a running powerslam. Natalya locks Ripley in the Sharpshooter. Ripley makes it to the ropes. Ripley falls from the ring. Natalya fails to execute a baseball slide. Ripley returns to the ring. Ripley punches Natalya in the face. Ripley wins by hitting Natalya with Riptide.

Winner and still champion: Rhea Ripley

After the match, Ripley attacks Natalya. Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan hit the ring. Ripley bolts.

– A video package recaps the Bloodline Civil War from WWE Money in the Bank. 

– Ripley is greeted backstage by the new Ms. Money in the Bank, IYO SKY. She dares her to try something. SKY says she will see her around. Priest & Dom come to comfort Ripley. Ripley says that Raquel either didn’t get the message last week or she’s thick in the skull. 

Matt Riddle vs. Giovanni Vinci 

A quick match. Vinci tries to attack the injured foot of Riddle. Riddle goes for Bro Derek. Vinci counters into an ankle lock. Riddle gets to win by countering that into a pinfall. 

Winner: Matt Riddle 

– Imperium hits the ring and attacks Matt Riddle. Drew McIntyre comes down to make the save. Backstage, Drew says he’s back, and Riddle wants to tag team with Riddle in a match with Imperium next week. 

– Set up for next week: 

  • Zoey Stark vs. Becky Lynch 
  • Ricochet & Logan Paul come face-to-face 
  • No DQ: The Miz vs. Tommaso Ciampa 

Seth Rollins vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ Judgment Day)

The announce team talks about the problems with Judgment Day and the current location of Finn Balor being unknown. Seth Rollins is in full control going into a commercial break, dropping Mysterio with a flying knee off the apron. Rollins briefly stares down Damian Priest. Rollins hits The Three Amigos. Rollins moves to the top. Ripley diverts the referee’s attention as Priest pushes Rollins off the top rope. Mysterio does a frog splash. Instead of pinning Rollins, Mysterio stomps him repeatedly. Another frog splash from Mysterio. Mysterio attempts once more, but Rollins raises his knees. Rollins explodes and unleashes on Dom. Rollins successfully lands a suicide dive on Mysterio and Priest. Ripley yells at Rollins. Rollins attempts a Curb Stomp. Priest enters the ring and executes South of Heaven on Rollins, resulting in a disqualification.

Winner: Seth  Rollins

– After the match, Priest assaults Rollins. Mysterio hits Rollins in the back with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Mysterio and Ripley tell Damian to cash in. Just as he is ready to do so, Finn Balor finally arrives on the scene just long enough to hit Seth Rollins into Damian Priest. Balor and Priest start to bicker about the situation. Rollins is able to slink away and when Mysterio tries to stop him, he gets a Pedigree for his trouble on the ringside floor. The show goes off the air with Judgment Day bickering
