Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, June 23, 2023.

WWE SmackDown

– Rey Mysterio clashed with LA Knight. The self-proclaimed megastar scored the hard-fought win. He went to attack Mysterio after the bell, but Santos Escobar made the save.

– The Usos kicked off the show following Jey Uso’s decision to betray Roman Reigns. Jey noted that they were about to fight their family, and family isn’t supposed to do that. Jey said they still love Reigns, but “The Tribal Chief” disrespected them. Jimmy pointed out that Roman Reigns is alone on the Island of Relevancy. Jey called Paul Heyman a snake and stated that they were going to war with their family. He said they would welcome Reigns and Solo Sikoa to the Uso Penitentiary. 

 WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn in a title unification match. Raquel Rodriguez confronted the champions after the match, and Liv Morgan made her return as she reunited with Rodriguez.

– Charlotte Flair scored a decisive win against Lacey Evans. After the match, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka attacked Flair.

– Grayson Waller hosted Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) on the Grayson Waller Effect. Wilson and Prince expressed their confidence ahead of their title match against Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Samki Zayn. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) interrupted and said they wanted the smoke

– Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) defeated the Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) in a competitive match.

– Solo Sikoa bumped into Ridge Holland and dropped him with a Samoan Spike. Sheamus demanded a match with Solo Sikoa. Sheamus then came to the stage and challenged Sikoa to a fight.

– Backstage, Adam Pearce asked Bianca Belair what would happen if Asuka or Charlotte Flair took a shot at her during their title match next week. He told her that she was barred from ringside. 

– Sheamus battled Solo Sikoa in the main event.- acth called off, officials check on Sheamus. Sikoa went to keep attacking Sheamus, but The Usos made the save. Jimmy and Jey dropped Sikoa with superkicks at the end of the show.

– Warrior Award Winner Jarrius Robertson was in attendance.

– Bayley was scheduled to compete on the show, but her match did not happen. She noted that she would be on the June 30 episode instead.

AEW Rampage

– “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry defeated DOUKI. IWGP World Heavyweight Champion confronted Perry after the bout.

– Skye Blue defeated Anna jay A.S. in an Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament Quarterfinal Match.

– AEW World Champion surprised Adam Cole with the news that he had been booked in a match against Tom Lawlor at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Lawlor and Royce Isaacs attacked Cole.

– Johnny TV returned to AEW and joined the QTV crew as he attacked Billy Gunn after he and The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) scored a win in trios action.

– United Empire (Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher, and Jeff Cobb) teamed up with Swerve Strickland to defeat CHAOS (Rocky Romero, Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, and YOH). Ospreay scored the victory by pinning YOH.

– AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm discussed her match against Willow Nightingale at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

– Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana previewed Swerve’s match against Hiroshi Tanahashi on AEW Collision.

– CM Punk, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler), and Ricky Starks discussed their match with Jay White, Juice Robinson, and the Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn).

– Anthony Bowens commented on his special moment on AEW Rampage.

– Johnny TV briefly commented on his return.
