Erick Stevens Discusses Tired Dads Fitness Club: “I Want You To Be Your Kid’s Favorite Superhero”
Erick Stevens is trying to be the best father possible.
After seven years in the wrestling industry, during which time he worked for promotions such as Ring of Honor and the NWA, Stevens (real name Eric Koenreich), stepped away from in ring competition in October 2010.
He would return to action in May 2019, but during his time away, Stevens accomplished quite a bit. Over those nine years he opened and closed a bakery called Kookies & Kream, coached jiu-jitsu, blogged about junk food on YouTube, started a family, and created Tired Dads Fitness Club. Through Tired Dads, Eric helped fathers who were struggling to not give up but to persevere and be better for it.
Speaking with SNN News, Stevens explained the motivation behind Tired Dads.
“I want you to be your kid’s favorite superhero, that’s my job. I want your kids to look at you and see a role model. I want you to lead by example, that’s what I do now. I have a passion for that cause,” he said.
Happily married and a father of three, Stevens says his goal in life is to be a good father and leave behind a legacy that his children can look back on fondly.
“My legacy, the only thing I care about, is that I was a good father. When I’m long gone I want my kids to still be talking about me in a positive light. I want them to look at me to be their favorite superhero,” he said.
Stevens last wrested in December 2022, losing to Victor Benjamin at FIGHTT Pro Enter The FIGHTT: Round 4. Throughout 2020, he was the BLP Heavyweight Champion, but ultimately dropped the title to Calvin Tankman after an impressive 280 day reign that saw his defeat the likes of Josh Alexander and Tom Lawlor.
