Jim Cornette Declines Jimmy Van’s Debate Invitation In Scathing Manner
Fightful owner Jimmy Van wanted to finance a debate between Jim Cornette and Vince Russo, but Cornette declined the offer in a pretty unique manner.
An e-mail was sent to Cornette on the afternoon of Monday, June 12 about the idea of having a verbal debate with Russo, with JV offering Jim $5,000 – $10,000 as a starting point. Cornette responded that evening and JV read Cornette’s e-mail on “The List & Ya Boy” podcast this week:
“I really was just going to delete this, but I stopped because I had to tell you what a raving f*cking lunatic you must be to think that I would work with, cooperate with, or tolerate the existence of in any way that miserable f*cking piece of shit for a million dollars, much less “5 or 10K”. Not only do I have zero interest, but you have to be out of your flippin mind to think I will have anything to do with him unless it’s standing over him with a bat bashing his f*cking brains into grape jelly. F*ck you for even writing this to me,” Cornette’s e-mail response said.
Cornette and Russo have had a very long and heated history and Cornette recently added fuel to the fire in a recent appearance on the WWE Network show “Table for 3” alongside Michael Hayes and Eric Bischoff. Russo recently filmed a “public apology” for Cornette. Cornette revealed in a 2015 interview why he hated Russo.
“The List & Ya Boy” podcast is live on Fightful every Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET and is hosted by Jimmy Van and Fightful managing editor Sean Ross Sapp.
