AEW Dynamite (5/24/23) Preview: AEW Hits Las Vegas For Final Dynamite Before AEW Double Or Nothing

It’s Wednesday, May 24, 2023, and you know what that means!

It’s time to break down the May 24 episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.

AEW returns to one of their homes away from home as Las Vegas gets ready for three nights of AEW action with the final episode of Dynamite on the road to AEW Double or Nothing 2023 on May 28.

This episode will feature three championship matches, Chris Jericho and Adam Cole signing the paperwork for their upcoming Unsanctioned Match, an announcement from Tony Khan regarding the first episode of AEW Saturday Collision, and more.

Here’s everything you need to know before the latest AEW Dynamite on TBS.

We Will Hear From The Four Pillars Ahead Of AEW Double or Nothing

At AEW Double or Nothing 2023, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF, will defend his AEW World Championship against the other pillars of All Elite Wrestling, Jack Perry, Darby Allin, and Sammy Guevara.

MJF and the other pillars will all get the chance to send one final message ahead of the monumental headlining bout on May 28. One final chance to send a message also means one final chance to get the last laugh ahead of the pay-per-view

Certainly, the goal of every one of the pillars is to leave the best impression in the minds of the audience but come Sunday, all the talking will stop.

Three Title Fights Live In Las Vegas

Three Championship matches will take place on May 24, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

First, Orange Cassidy continues to wear himself thi and run himself ragged. Cassidy will take on Kyle Fletcher on May 28 and should he survive this, he will have to defend the gold inside of a Blackjack Battle Royal, a match he imposed on himself.

Before then, Cassidy looks to prove he has enough gas in the tank to defeat another member of the United Empire. Kyle Fletcher is no slouch, however, and will gladly give Cassidy all he can handle.

Also taking place on May 24, the trio of ROH mainstays, AR Fox, Metalik, & Blake Christian will be the second team to take on The House of Black under “Open House Rules.” At this time, there is no official word on what the final stipulation will be under the previously arranged agreement.

The Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship will be on this line as Claudio Castagboli and Wheeler Yuta represent the Blackpool Combat Club against the incumbent champions Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo. Claudio and Wheeler have to be more concerned about their upcoming Anarchy in the Arena encounter with The Elite at AEW Double or Nothing 2023, but that doesn’t mean that adding more accolades to the club isn’t always a priority.

Adam Cole and Chris Jericho Put Pen To Paper

Adam Cole and Chris Jericho will clash for the first time ever in an Unsanctioned Match at AEW Double or Nothing. On May 24, they will sign the contract for the upcoming fight. Cole had previously stated that he wasn’t sure if he and “The Ocho” would make it to AEW Double or Nothing. With pro wrestling’s propensity for having contract signings end in violence, Cole will have one final opportunity to send a message to Jericho before their fight on May 28.

Additionally, FTR will be in the house to address their upcoming match with Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal at AEW Double or Nothing. Tony Khan will announce the location for the first AEW Saturday Collision, and Lady Frost will wrestle Taya Valkyrie.
