At AEW Revolution 2023, the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) defeated The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) to win the AEW World Trios Championship. On the May 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, the group announced that they would be holding an “Open House” challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship. This open challenge would come with a unique set of “house rules,” and Matthews subsequently clarified what the conditions were.
In a tweet, Matthews listed the house rules. There will be 20-second count-outs, as opposed to the typical 10-count, and the matches won’t have any rope-breaks. Additionally, disqualifications will be enforced, and the challengers get to decide what the fourth rule is.
Under house rules the following applies
