WWE RAW (4/24/23) Results: Triple H To Make Announcement, Bad Bunny To Appear, And More

Preview

WWE Raw (4/24)

– Triple H has a huge announcement
– Damian Priest vs. Rey Mysterio
– Bad Bunny returns


– Cody Rhodes kicks off the show and asks fans what they wanna talk about. Cody Rhodes talks about his pectoral injury and wrestling inside Hell in a Cell last year in the same arena. He briefly hyped his match against Brock Lesnar at Backlash and was interrupted by Finn Balor. Finn Balor offered him a spot in Judgment Day. Cody declined and challenged him to a match tonight. 

The LWO (Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde) vs. The Bloodline (The Usos & Solo Sikoa) 

The match is back and forth early on, but LWO gets the advantage going into a commercial break. Wilde hits a tope. Jey Uso drops Escobar on the outside. In the end, Jimmy distracts the referee, and Sikoa hits Wilde with the Samoa Spike. The Usos hit Toro with the 1D for the win. 

Winners: The Usos & Solo Sikoa 

– The Usos vow to regain their Tag Team titles on Friday in honor of Roman Reigns. 

– Bianca Belair is interviewed about her upcoming WWE Raw Women’s Championship defense at WWE Backlash. Damage CTRL interrupts and Bayley challenges Bianca to find two partners and face them tonight. 

– Jey Uso is on the phone backstage and he sees Sami Zayn. Zayn tries to tell him how silly it is that he’s dedicating his match to Roman Reigns.  Zayn says Uso deserves better than that. Uso says they both made their choices. 

– A video package recaps Irish Stratus turning on Becky Lynch and her explanation. Cathy Kelley then interviews Trish, and she says that Becky Lynch was having trouble being the man and the mom, but she isn’t, and she’s thriving. 

The Street Profits vs. Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin 

A quick match. Benjamin and Alexander get a near fall with a double team. The street profits get the win with a Spinebuster and Frog Splash. 

Winners: Street Profits

– Triple H announces that Roman Reigns will take the Undisputed Universal Championship to whatever show he goes to. The other brand will crown a new WWE World Champion, and he unveils the new title. Triple H promises that this champion will compete all the time. The champion will be crowned WWE Night of Champions on 5/27/23. 

– A video package highlights Bronson Reed.

– Backstage, Jey Usos appears to be distracted while Jimmy Uso is bragging about being the right-hand man. Jimmy flips out once he learns that Jey interacted with Sami Zayn. 

Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY)

Belair and IYO square off early on and they’re evenly matched. Rodriguez and Morgan double-team Kai and Bayley. Damage CTRL takes control and isolates Morgan. Rodriguez eventually gets in and clears house. Rodriguez throws Morgan onto Damage CTRL. In the end, Dakota is able to escape the KOD but Bayley falls victim to it and Bianca pins her. 

Winners: Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez

– Austin Theory heads to the ring and says he wants to be the first WWE World Champion. Bobby Lashley interrupts him and says he requested the triple threat for the WWE United States Championship at Backlash. Lashley brawls with Theory. Bronson Reed comes out. The heels double team Lashley. Reed leaves Theory laying following a Tsunami. 

– Backstage, Elias, Rick Boogs, Chad Gable, Otis, and Maxxine Dupri stress about the draft. Maxine and Chad argue about who will go with Otis. Mustafa Ali comes out wanting everyone to be more positive.

Chad Gable vs. Mustafa Ali

Another quick match. Ali gets a brief hope spot with a tilt-a-whirl DDT. Ali misses the 450 Splash but counters the chaos theory into a roll-up for the win. 

Winner: Mustafa Ali

Jimmy Uso confronts Sami Zayn and says that he sees through the mind games he’s trying to play with Jey Uso. He promised that the Usos are going to take back what’s theirs. Jimmy then plants a seed of doubt about Kevin Owens potentially turning Zayn on after they lose. 

Finn Balor vs. Cody Rhodes

Both men jockey for position early on Cody Rhodes gets the upper hand until Finn Balor is able to move out of the way of a charging Cody. Cody Rhodes eventually fights back and gets his signature snap powerslam and beautiful disaster kick for a near fall. Finn Balor gets control but Cody Rhodes eventually comes back with a super kick and Cody Cutter. Ballard hits the shotgun dropkick but is unable to hit the Coup de Grace. Cody Rhodes hits the Pedigree and CrossRhodes for the victory. 

Winner: Cody Rhodes 

– Seth Rollins comes out and says he is excited to become the WWE World Champion. He says this is a WWE Championship that people will be able to be proud of because, unlike Roman Reigns, some people still want to fight. Omos interrupts him, and Seth Rollins promises to make him famous at Backlash. 

– Kevin Owens is not happy that Sami Zayn ditched him the whole night and was talking to Jimmy and Jey Uso. Matt Riddle promises Sami Zayn that everything will be alright. 

– Brock Lesnar will be on WWE Raw next week. 

Rey Mysterio vs. Damian Priest 

Midway through the match, Bad Bunny shows up and is making his way into the arena just as Rey Mysterio is thrown onto the outside of the ring for the final commercial break of the evening.

Back from break, Mysterio and Priest went back and forth. Priest caught Mysterio when he went for an Asai Moonsault. Mysterio countered a Powerbomb with a Frankensteiner followed by the 619. Priest would get disqualified by throwing a chair at Mysterio. After the Bell, Priest drilled Rey with the South of Heaven. Bad Bunny came out with a Kendo stick in hand. He attacked Priest with the Kendo stick before announcing that he and Priest would have a street fight at Backlash in Puerto Rico. 

Winner: Rey Mysterio by DQ
