Vinny Pacifico Discusses MLW Debut, Says He Dropped 13 Pounds In 4 Days To Prepare
Vinny Pacifico goes into detail about his recent debut match with Major League Wrestling.
In October 2022, Vinny Pacifico made his debut for Major League Wrestling a match against Dr. Dax. Although the match would not end up airing on MLW Fusion until February 2023, Pacifico has nothing but good things to say about his first booking with the promotion.
While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Pacifico told the story about the booking and how he had only a few days to get prepared for it.
“Oh, my God. I’ll tell you this one, this is a fun story. I got e-mailed Wednesday to be there Sunday. I was like, ‘Okay. I’ve got Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday—four or five days to get in the best shape of my life.’ I was in good shape, but I was like, ‘You know what? I want to get really lean for this.’ So I dropped 13 pounds in those four days somehow with cardio and dieting so hard. I did it. I was very happy with that match. Happy with the locker room. The locker room, again, had guys from Ring of Honor there, people I’ve known from back in the day. It’s always good seeing them. Yo, Delirious is amazing. He’s incredible. He’s a great mind. So that was a really great moment for me, being there. I was very pleased with how quick I was able to get my body in the best shape possible within four days. Just for that appearance alone I wanted to be super, super lean, and I did. Funny enough, it was the day before Halloween. So I did not have any Halloween candy. None. I had a show the day before. After the show I went home, got my fiancé, went to a Halloween party with some friends and they had everything. They had this giant ghost cake, candy corn—which I love candy corn, sorry whoever it offends out there. I didn’t have a single piece of candy. I said, ‘I’m gonna do this the right way.’ Had the match at MLW and it went great. I’m very pleased with how it went.”
Pacifico has yet to appear for the company again since debuting for them back in October 2022.
Elsewhere in the interview, Pacifico talked about dedicating an AEW match to his late mother-in-law back in January 2023. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
