Alba Fyre And Isla Dawn Discuss Being Paired Together In NXT And Their Chemistry
Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn discuss their pairing in NXT and their chemistry together
From the ashes of their rivalry, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn decided to unite and wreak havoc on the NXT women’s roster, currently holding the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. Now, they have never been closer, and they are enjoying the work they put in every Tuesday night on the USA Network.
Speaking to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp ahead of WrestleMania 39, Dawn and Fyre spoke about Shawn Michaels approaching them about teaming, the bumps in the road to their partnership, and feeling as close as sisters now.
Fightful: “You all are obviously doing well as a team. Who approached you about the idea of pairing you two together? When did this come about?”
Alba Fyre: “Probably Shawn Michaels.”
Isla Dawn: “We hinted it was in the works for a while.”
Alba Fyre: “Then it was a fallout, didn’t think it was happening.”
Isla Dawn: “There were bumps in the road.”
Alba Fyre: “We just came back around and said before they’d teased it once in NXT: U.K. in one match. I liked working with you.”
Isla Dawn: “It was just before you left, as well. I think that was your last time in the U.K. Was it not?”
Alba Fyre: “Yeah, just before I lost the title. But I feel like since being put together here, everything’s just clicked. It’s just fallen into place. We’re having fun.”
Isla Dawn: “Especially for me ‘cause I only got here in October. It’s new country, new everything.”
Alba Fyre: “Thrown into the deep end.”
Isla Dawn: “Living alone, doing the PC and everything. It’s good having somebody who is so experienced and done so much. She’s been through it.”
Alba Fyre: “I just love it.”
Isla Dawn: “I feel like she’s my big sister.”
NXT UK, which is where both Fyre and Dawn come from, was put on Hiatus in 2022 to make room for an expanded NXT Europe brand. Learn the latest updates on that brand’s development at this link.
Fightful has live coverage of WWE NXT as it airs on the USA Network, beginning every Tuesday at 8 p.m. eastern time.
