Cash Wheeler, Brandon Cutler Weigh In On CM Punk, FTR, Elite Discourse

Brandon Cutler and Cash Wheeler comment on the situation between The Elite, CM Punk, and AEW.

Both The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) and CM Punk have been nearly radio silent on the Brawl Out situation that occurred back in September 2022. This situation caused all three men to be stripped of their respective championships and suspended from the promotion. Although The Elite returned to All Elite Wrestling later that November, CM Punk has yet to reemerge on any form of AEW programming.

On April 13, Fightful Select posted a report noting that there was a working plan in place to bring back Punk to the promotion after months of discussion. This report prompted quite a bit of discussion among fans and wrestlers alike in the community.

On April 14, Deadspin posted an article titled ‘CM Punk is gaslighting AEW.’ Later in the day, Brandon Cutler, one of the Young Bucks’ closest friends and a noted member of The Elite, chimed in and said, “Someone gets it.” Cutler has since deleted the tweet and made his account private.

Cutler was reportedly on the list of talent suspended after Brawl Out. His suspension was lifted rather quickly, as Cutler was reportedly cleared to return to AEW just two weeks after the incident.

On April 15, Cash Wheeler of FTR tweeted that everyone needs to do better to fix this situation and that he wants what is best for AEW overall. Cash also defended his tag team partner, Dax Harwood, saying that he is one of the most honest people he knows and would do anything to protect his friends and family.

In the past, Dax Harwood has openly talked about wanting to participate in a program pitting FTR and CM Punk against The Elite. Fans can read some of his comments at this link.

It is currently unknown if plans for CM Punk’s return to AEW will come to fruition. In the meantime, subscribe to Fightful Select to keep current on the situation.
