New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) returned to Ryogoku Sumo Hall on Saturday for Sakura Genesis, the first since 2021.
The card was a stacked one with five different championship matches including another IWGP Women’s Championship match as Mercedes Moné defended against STARDOM’s Hazuki and AZM, Zack Sabre Jr. defending the NJPW World TV Championship against Shota Umino, a major IWGP Tag Team Championship match between Bishamon and Aussie Open, Robbie Eagles challenging Hiromu Takahashi for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title, and in the main event, Kazuchika Okada putting the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the New Japan Cup winner, SANADA.
