Joey Janela Comments On Recent AIW Bout With Matthew Justice, Says ‘It Was A Pretty F*cked Up Match’

Joey Janela comments on one of the toughest death matches he’s ever done.

Throughout his near sixteen year career, Joey Janela has been involved in quite a few hardcore matches. Janela has had memorable stipulation matches with the current stars like Lio Rush, Jon Moxley, and Drew Parker in recent years, but has also enjoyed bouts with legends like Matt Tremont and Zandig.

In a new interview with Fightful, Janela was asked to pick a match that he considers to be his most violent deathmatch that he’s ever had.

“Fuck, man. That’s a hard one. I think recent, actually. I think me and Matt Justice at AIW. We had a 22 minute match where I couldn’t walk afterwards. It was fucked up. [I was] getting dropped on my head, getting put through tables, getting hit in the head with chairs, doors, getting buried under guardrails, getting slammed through guardrails. It was a pretty fucked up match. So I would go watch that on Fite+ because I showed it to a few people and they’re like, ‘Well, this match just keeps on escalating and it’s getting more and more violent, and more and more uncomfortable.’ That’s one in recent [times]. But there’s been plenty.”

In a recent separate interview, Janela expressed his intention to become a booker once his in-ring days are over. Fans can learn more here.
