Act Yasukawa Talks Attending WrestleCon, Competing In Pandemonium Pro
Act Yasukawa tells Fightful about taking part in WrestleCon and competing in WrestleMania Week.
WrestleCon will be the home to many wrestlers from around the world including former Wonder of Stardom Champion Act Yasukawa, who will also compete in matches over WrestleMania Week including Pandemonium: Pro Wrestling.
With Yasukawa coming to America, she is quite excited to see her international fans and have the chance to meet them for the first time.
Fightful’s Scott Edwards got to ask the Actwres girl’Z star about her upcoming trip, discussing her excitement to meet fans and compete.
Via translator Derek Kolterman, Yasukawa expressed that she never thought she’d get the chance to do this after leaving STARDOM in 2015 and pro wrestling. After receiving the news, her response was priceless.
“After having left STARDOM and retired from wrestling once, I never thought I’d have a chance to wrestle overseas,” Yasukawa said, via translator. “So when I got the news, I had to do a couple double takes asking ‘really? Is this happening?’
“I was like ‘but wait a minute it, should it be me? Wait no, yes it has to be me.’ I can’t wait to go.”
Being asked about the upcoming experience to sign autographs and take photos as WrestleCon, Yasukawa explained how she’s not used to those types of things as it’s very different in America compared to Japan.
“The American fans are quite different than the Japanese fans and this is one of the great things about the American fans is that they really, really cheer for and pump up the actresses, the wrestlers themselves as well,” Yasukawa said.
One of the matches Act Yasukawa will be competing in when arriving to America will be Pandemonium: Pro’s Rumble Riot as she teams with Aspyn Rose. She discussed the match and explained why it was so different for her as she has never competed in a battle royal-style match as a tag team.
“The battle royal match is going to have a lot of people in it,” Yasukawa said. “I’ve never done a tag team match of that type. So lots of things to learn, lots of things to try and study and understand about the rules and how it’s going to work. All of the opponents that are going to be out there — what are their strengths and their main moves. I can be as prepared as I can but the most important thing is to remain true to myself.”
