Dustin Rhodes: I’m Proud Of The Man Cody Rhodes Has Become
Dustin Rhodes praises his brother.
Cody Rhodes is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39. Cody and Dustin have a long history as friends and foes in wrestling, winning the WWE Tag Team Championships together and putting on a bloody classic at AEW Double or Nothing 2019.
Speaking to Sports Guys Talk Wrestling, Dustin gave his thoughts on Cody going after the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
“I’m super proud of him and so proud of the man he’s become. He’s become very wise for his age and since AEW and since he went out on his own, he’s making a name for himself and he’s flourished and done a damn good job at it. He’s taken care of his body, he looks great, he walks the walk and talks the talk and backs it up. He looks like a million dollars and that’s the important thing about it. You want to be World Champion and the megastar that the company is on your back, you have to look the part. He does that. I’m not a suit guy, he is. I just wear t-shirts and jeans. That’s a lot of pressure. A lot of pressure to have the weight of the WWE Universe on your shoulders but he will become, hopefully, the first Rhodes to win the big one in WWE and that’s impressive. I’m here for it and I can’t wait to watch,” he said.
Dustin Rhodes has been referenced on WWE television during the build for Cody vs. Roman.
Elsewhere during the interview, Dustin discussed potentially opening his own promotion in Austin, Texas. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
