Ronda Rousey To Serve As Coach On Revamped Battle Of The Network Stars
Ronda Rousey hasn't fought in 2017, and her UFC future is in doubt, but she'll be appearing on a weekly ABC series this summer.
Rousey will be a team captain opposite former NFL star Demarcus Ware, coaching a cast of rotating celebrities in several different sporting events in the revamped "Battle of Network Stars" starting on June 29.
"If someone could go back in time and tell the 10-year-old me, glued to the television, watching Howard Cosell and all the biggest names in television running obstacle courses and playing tug of war, that someday he would be directly involved with Battle of the Network Stars, he would have said it was the coolest thing ever. Decades later, that's exactly how I feel," said host Mike Greenberg
The show originally ran from 1976 to 1988, hosted by the aforementioned Cosell. Greenberg and Joe Tessitore will host the new version.
Rousey has been largely out of the public eye since her vicious UFC 207 loss to Amanda Nunes in December, but was recently engaged to fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne.
