Maki Itoh: When I Go Back To AEW, I Want To Continue To Be Myself

Maki Itoh doesn’t want to be restricted to being a heel or babyface in All Elite Wrestling.

Maki Itoh’s popularity has skyrocketed in recent years, and part of that can be chalked up to her small stints with AEW. Itoh has had matches with the likes of Riho, Thunder Rosa, and Dr. Britt Baker DMD within the confines of AEW.

While speaking to Fightful for a new interview, Itoh noted that she wants to continue to be herself when she returns to AEW, citing that she does not want to be restricted to being a babyface or heel.

“When I go back to AEW, I want to continue to be myself and not be restricted as to what a babyface or heel is. I want to remain silly, keep everyone moved by the way I wrestle, but get them to laugh by the way I wrestle. Laughing with me.”

Itoh last wrestled for AEW on the November 28, 2022 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation, where she and Emi Sakura lost to Marina Shafir & Nyla Rose in a tag team bout.

Elsewhere in the interview, Itoh talked about the potential of her doing a tour in the United States. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
