The Usos Become First Tag Team In History To Surpass 600-Day Reign As WWE Tag Team Champions
The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) have made WWE history.
On Friday, March 10, 2023, the brothers’ reign as the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions hit the 600-day mark. Jimmy and Jey won the titles back at WWE Money in the Bank 2021, where they dethroned Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
With this milestone reached, Jimmy and Jey Uso have become the first tag team to ever hold a championship for 600 days, surpassing teams like Demolition, The Dudley Boyz, The New Day, The Hart Foundation, and many more legendary teams including teams featuring their father, Rikishi and “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns
The Usos became the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in company history on November 14, 2022. They surpassed the record set by The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E), which had been 483 days (August 23, 2015 – December 18, 2016).
On the May 20, 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown, The Usos defeated RK-Bro (Matt Riddle & Randy Orton) to win the Raw Tag Team Championship. They have been the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions ever since.
Throughout their reign, The Usos have defended the titles against the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), the Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar), The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Dawkins), The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch), and The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio & Damian Priest) among other teams.
Alongside The Usos’ impressive run with the titles, Roman Reigns has held the WWE Universal Championship for over 900 days. Roman will face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
On the March 10 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, The Usos closed the show by getting into a brawl with Cody Rhodes and their rival Sami Zayn.
