Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk Undisputed Heavyweight Title Fight Targeted For April
Undefeated, heavyweight champions, Tyson Fury, and former unified champ, Oleksandr Usyk are close to officially clashing in 2023.
ESPN’s Mike Coppinger was the first to report the news on Friday, confirming with WBA President Gilberto Mendoza that Fury and Usyk have both agreed to terms of a deal to meet on April 29 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Fury is the current WBC heavyweight champ and sits at 33-0-1 as a pro. He’s coming off a 10th-round TKO victory over Derek Chisora in their trilogy bout last December. Usyk meanwhile is 20-0 as a pro and holds the WBA, lBF, IBO, WBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles. He will look to build on a split-decision win over former two-time unified champ, Anthony Joshua, in their rematch this past August.
