Bob Arum Says Manny Pacquiao May Fight Conor McGregor

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has been itching for the super fight against Floyd Mayweather for quite some time now.

However, if Mayweather doesn’t end up fighting McGregor, then legendary promoter Bob Arum knows somebody who does.

“If McGregor is still looking for an opponent, Manny Pacquiao is there,” Arum told TMZ.

While Mayweather has yet to sign the bout agreement, the UFC Lightweight Champion has signed his.

Arum also wants fans to be patient because the process for getting a super fight of this capacity together takes some time.

“Be patient, don’t give in,” Arum said. “Dana’s a good negotiator, and he’ll get the thing done. But he can’t be pushed around by Mayweather and his people.”

The UFC Lightweight Champion has no professional boxing experience to speak of, while Mayweather has fought the best that the sport has to offer, including Pacquiao. UFC President Dana White had also recent revealed that the upcoming GGG/Alvarez fight stole the original date for the proposed super fight, which was September 16.

Recently, a Showtime executive did say that if the fight between the UFC star and the boxing great does come together, fans can expect to see it happen this fall.
