Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, March 3.

WWE SmackDown 

– Santos Escobar approached Dominik Mysterio and said he’d teach him a lesson about respect. They faced off, and Escobar talked some trash as he questioned whether Dominik respected his legacy. The two stars went back and forth. Dominilk distracted the referee, and Rhea Ripley hit Escobar with a Riptide. Dominik then hit a frog splash for the win. To add insult to injury, Dominik ripped the Rey Mysterio mask that his father gave to Escobar. Rey came out, and when he refused to hit Dominik, his son dropped him with a cheap shot.

– In the main event, Sami Zayn faced Solo Sikoa. Despite a valiant effort from Zayn, a late distraction from Jimmy Uso helped Sikoa score the win with the Samoan Spike. Sikoa and Uso attacked Zayn after the match. Sami turned it around took control of the situation before he ran into the crowd to avoid another round.

– Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes finally faced off. Rhodes referenced All In and discussed his road to the main event of WrestleMania. Reigns focused on Cody’s father, Dusty Rhodes, and the way Dusty groomed him into the star he became. Cody got fired up and told Roman he needed to beat him at WrestleMania, and they shook hands.

2023 Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley, who was accompanied by Dominik Mysterio, faced her former tag team partner, Liv Morgan. Ripley over-powered the fan-favorite and grounded her. Morgan persevered and fought back, but in the end, Ripley scored the win with the Cloverleaf. Liv later hugged a young fan who cried after her loss.

– Backstage, Jimmy Uso was asked about Jey, and he said his brother just needs time. Jimmy said Jey is better today than he was yesterday. Reigns made it clear that he’s running out of my patience with Jimmy. Later in the show, Jimmy told Roman that Jey told him to leave him alone. Reigns told Jimmy that he wanted him to get rid of Sami Zayn so Jey would come home. He then told Heyman that Jey had one week left to show up.

– Drew McIntyre came to the ring and called out Gunther. Sheamus answered instead and said McIntyre was a “back-stabbing bastard” for trying to get a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship. LA Knight and the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) joined the fray. Karrion Kross came to the ring, prompting a brawl between the contenders. Kross attacked Sheamus and stood tall.

– In an interview, Intercontinental Champion Gunther said it was a disgrace that his challenger at WrestleMania hasn’t been identified yet. He said he wants a worthy opponent for the show.

– Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey brawled with Tegan Nox and Natalya backstage. Rousey hurt her arm in the brawl, so the scheduled tag team bout between the duos became a singles match where Baszler picked up the win.

– Bobby Lashley came out and addressed his brewing feud with Bray Wyatt. He said he didn’t run from anyone, which is why he came to SmackDown, as he called out Wyatt. Uncle Howdy attacked Lashley from behind, but the former WWE Champion gained the upper hand. The lights went out, and when they came back on, Howdy had disappeared.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio discussed their successful night. Dominik stated that he lives to make his father pay.

AEW Rampage

– In an interview, Konosuke Takeshita discussed his loss in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. He stated that he hasn’t picked up enough big wins. He pondered going back to Japan, but Don Callis approached him and stated that he needs “something”. Callis asked Takeshita to give him time to show him what he could do. 

– Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes earned revenge by defeating Swerve Strickland and Parker Boudreaux.

– Mark Briscoe joined forces with the Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) as the trio challenged the Varsity Athletes (Josh Woods & Tony Nese) and Ari Daivari to a match, which was confirmed for AEW Revolution: Zero Hour.

– Powerhouse Hobbs dominated Serpentico. In a post-match promo, Hobbs vowed to win the TNT Championship.

– Quality TV (QTV) is coming soon.

– In a promo, “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry sent a heated message to Christian Cage and told him there would be “grave consequences” as they will meet in “The Final Burial” at AEW Revolution

– John Silver and Alex Reynolds attacked Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta to kick-start a four way match that also included Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) and Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher). The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Maria Kanellis) watched on at ringside as the four teams battled it out. Silver fired up with a flurry of offense. La Faccion Ingobernable (RUSH & Preston Vance) were shown watching backstage. Top Flight gained the upper hand at one point. In the endl, Yuta got the win when he pinned Darius. Silver and Reynolds attacked Castagnoli and Yuta after the bell, and they kept brawling.

– A video package highlighted the feud between Jon Moxley and Hangman Adam Page

. – Riho scored a hard-fought win over Emi Sakura.

– AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter, Saraya, and Ruby Soho previewed their upcoming match at AEW Revolution. 

– The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn), Orange Cassidy & Danhausen, Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal and The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) previewed the four-way tag team title match at AEW Revolution.

– Ricky Starks snuck up behind Chris Jericho and attacked him at the end of the show. They brawled until they were separated.
