Play-by-Play
Jon Jones vs. (#1) Ciryl Gane — UFC Heavyweight Championship
Round One – Jones opens with a low kick and Gane kicks Jones below the belt right away. Referee Marc Goddard calls for a brief stop in the action and after a few seconds, Jones gives the OK and Goddard allows the action to get back underway. Jones catches a Gane leg kick and shoves Gane back. Jones lands a calf kick then clinches and gets Gane down to the mat. Jones has has the back, Gane scoots to the fence and Jones hops on Gane’s back. Gane spins and ends up in a seated position, Jones looks for the guillotine but Gane tucks the chin well for the time being. Jones latches in under the neck and Gane taps out! Jon Jones is BACK!

Valentina Shevchenko (C) vs. (#6) Alexa Grasso — UFC Flyweight Championship
Round One – Shevchenko opens with a side kick to the body to start. Grasso lands a low kick and pops the jab. Shevchenko lands a 1-2 and goes for the takedown but Grasso slides back to avoid the attempt. Grasso pops the jab and fires off a 1-2 and clinches. Shevchenko grabs Grasso’s head and judo throws Grasso to the mat but the buzzer sounds to end the opening frame.
Fightful scores this round 10-9 to Grasso.
Round Two – Shevchenko immediately dives in for a takedown and gets it. Shevchenko lands some ground and pound and has Grasso’s neck locked up in an odd position. Grasso keeps spinning around but Shevchenko holds firm and starts landing some more shots from the top. Grasso scrambles to her feet and breaks off Shevchenko. Grasso rips a bevy of shots and some are landing for the challenger. Shevchenko perfectly times a takedown and drags Grasso back down to the mat. Shevchenko lands a couple shots but the horn sounds to end round number two.
Fightful scores this round 10-9 to Shevchenko. 19-19 after two rounds.
Round Three – Grasso opens up with a 1-2. Shevchenko whiffs on a head kick and Grasso lands a low kick. A cut has opened up on the bridge of the champion’s nose but Shevchenko dives in and lands another takedown on Grasso. Shevchenko isn’t doing much damage this time around and Grasso scrambles back to her feet. Shevchenko lands yet another takedown, Grasso scrambles, Shevchenko gets the back and looks for a choke, Grasso scrambles and has the champion’s neck but the buzzer sounds to send this one to main event rounds.
Fightful scores this one 10-9 to Shevchenko. 29-28 to Shevchenko after three rounds.
Round Four – Shevchenko dives for a takedown right off the bat but Grasso sprawls and shoves the champion back. Grasso lands a low kick and Shevchenko lands a front kick to the body. Grasso stuns Shevchenko with a right hook and Shevchenko backs up for a moment but it looks like she may have slipped and seems fine. Grasso shoots for a takedown and has Shevchenko clinched against the fence. The champion forces the break and circles back to the center of the octagon. Grasso trips Shevchenko to the mat, takes the back and has the rear-naked choke locked in and the champion taps out! Alexa Grasso is the NEW UFC Flyweight Champion!

(#7) Geoff Neal vs. (#9) Shavkat Rakhmonov
Round One – Rakhmonov clinches right away. Neal reverses momentum, Rakhmonov spins back to control, but Neal does the same and forces the break. Rakhmonov lands a front kick to the body and evades a low kick attempt from Neal. Rakhmonov clinches and looks for a trip but Neal holds firm and shoves Rakhmonov against the fence. Rakhmonov has control along the cage wall now but Neal shoves him back and circles back to the center of the octagon. Neal lands a 1-2, then pops the jab, and partially lands an overhand right. Neal lands a side kick to the body and a right hook back up top. Rakhmonov lands a high kick, Neal clinches, and presses Rakhmonov against the fence. Rakhmonov lands a knee to the body, Neal clinches once again but Rakhmonov reverses momentum and cracks Neal with a knee to the head on the break. Neal has a gash on the left side of his left eye and Rakhmonov lands a 1-2 at the buzzer to end an entertaining opening frame.

Round Two – Rakhmonov opens the action with a 1-2. Rakhmonov lands a step in knee to the body and follows it up with a low kick and another 1-2 back up top. Rakhmonov lands an uppercut before popping the jab. Neal throws fire back but Rakhmonov does a good job of avoiding and clinches Neal against the fence. Neal’s left eye is leaking pretty badly now and Rakhmonov lands a 1-2 then a kick to the body. Neal clinches but Rakhmonov forces the break and eats a 1-2 from Neal on the break. Rakhmonov clinches and lands a knee to the body as the horn sounds to send this one to the third and final round.
Fightful scores this round 10-9 to Rakhmonov. 20-18 to Rakhmonov after two rounds.
Round Three – Rakhmonov lands a right hook to open the final frame. A spinning back kick misses for Rakhmonov and Neal lands a right hook for his troubles. Rakhmonov clinches and has Neal pressed against the fence. Neal forces his way out and lands a 1-2. Rakhmonov pops the jab and goes for a takedown but Neal holds his balance and backs up to the fence. Rakhmonov gets some control time in the clinch but Neal eventually forces the break. Rakhmonov rocks Neal with a heavy right jab and Neal is now leaking from his nose as well and his face is a mess as Rakhmonov continues his forward march. Rakhmonov clinches and gets back control, Neal spins to avoid a rear-naked choke and Rakhmonov is just all over him with under one minute to go. Rakhmonov gets to the back and Neal has no choice but to tap out! Shavkat Rakhmonov is the real deal!

(#7) Mateusz Gamrot vs. (#10) Jalin Turner
Round One – Turner opens the action with a 1-2. Gamrot lands a low kick and feints a takedown but Turner backs up and avoids nicely. Gamrot dives in for a takedown and successfully drags Turner to the mat. Turner scoots to the fence and is now in a seated position. Turner gets back to his feet but Gamrot continues to hold on along the cage wall. Turner shoves Gamrot off of him and lands a kick to the body on the break. Gamrot looks for another takedown and trips Turner to the mat. Turner ends up with partial back control, Gamrot is holding onto Turner’s right leg and pops out to end up in with top control. Turner scrambles and gets back to his feet but Gamrot remains in control of the clinch along the fence. Turner forces the break and partially lands a spinning back kick to the body at the horn and this one is headed to round number two.

Round Two – Turner uses his reach well and pops the jab to open the second round. Gamrot with a low kick and Turner counters with a 1-2. Turner lands a kick to Gamrot’s lead leg and cracks him with a 1-2 as Gamrot attempted to change levels. Gamrot pops back up to his feet and lands a right hook but Turner cracks him with a right hook, Gamrot goes for another takedown but Turner sprawls and pops back up to his feet. Turner lands a kick to the body, then a 1-2, and a right hand back up top. There’s a gash on the left side of Gamrot’s left eye and Gamrot shoots and gets a perfectly timed takedown. Gamrot ends up locking up Turner in a crucifix and starts pouring on the ground and pound. Turner slides and avoids much more damage for the time being and Gamrot settles into half guard. Gamrot gets back to the crucifix and starts crushing Turner with some big shots and the buzzer sounds that’ll send this one to the third and final frame.

Round Three – Turner lands a front kick to the body. Turner lands a step in knee to the body and a 1-2 but Gamrot drags Turner back down to the mat with plenty of time to work. Turner gets himself back to the feet but Gamrot pulls guard but only for a moment as Turner pops right back up to his feet. Gamrot has the clinch and referee Mark Smith tells Gamrot to start working or he’ll separate he and Turner. Nothing of consequence goes down and Smith forces the break with exactly two minutes to go in this one. Gamrot blocks a high kick attempt from Turner but Turner rocks Gamrot with a 1-2. Gamrot dives in for another takedown but Turner sprawls and this one is back on the feet. Turner lands a low kick then a step in knee to the body and Gamrot shotos for another takedown but Turner holds firm and goes for a flying knee with his loose leg but Gamrot now has both legs locked up. Turner backs up to the fence, Gamrot trips Turner to one knee as the clock ticks below 30 seconds to go. Turner is back up, Gamrot keeps the clinch in and trips Turner to the mat and starts unloading heavy shots as Turner scrambles and the horn sounds that’ll send this one to the judge’s scorecards.

Bo Nickal vs. Jamie Pickett
Round One – Nickal falls after missing a head kick to start. Nickal pops back to his feet, clinches, and has Pickett locked against the cage. Nickal trips Pickett to the mat, looks for a D’Arce and lands a knee before dragging Pickett back down to the mat. Nickal spins to the back, looks for the rear-naked choke, switches to a neck crank, and now has an arm triangle locked on. Pickett tries to hold on but Nickal’s squeeze is too tight and Pickett has no choice but to tap out! What a performance from Bo Nickal!
