Valentina Shevchenko Still Hoping For Trilogy Bout With Amanda Nunes Following UFC 285: “I Do Think It’s Going To Happen Someday”

Reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko, is still holding out hopes for a future trilogy bout with two-division champ, Amanda Nunes.

Shevchenko spoke with reporters during Wednesday’s media day for Saturday’s UFC 285 event in Las Vegas, Nevada ahead of her clash with, Alexa Grasso, and expressed her intentions to eventually move back to 135-pounds to face Nunes for a third time.

“I do think I will move [back] up, yeah. I do think it’s going to happen someday,” Shevchenko said (h/t MMA Mania). “[A Nunes trilogy] is the only one reason why I should move up. This time, it has to go my way. No matter what. I think I will have to do everything that I have to do to win the fight because it’s kind of like what I expect from myself. I think that our second fight that we had, I don’t think I lost that fight, and I rewatched it several times. I still think it should go a different way.”
