On the March 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, several of the company’s top stars faced off in the Casino Tag Team Royale, where he winner would be added to the AEW World Tag Team Championship match at AEW Revolution. John Siver and Alex Reynolds of the Dark Order were the first entrants, and Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta attacked them on their way to the ring. Silver and Reynolds were eventually eliminated, but they returned to ringside and distracted Castagnoli and Yuta long enough to help Orange Cassidy and Danhausen , the eventual winners, eliminate them. Elsewhere in the match, Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) eliminated Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin).
Following the conclusion of AEW Dynamite, AEW CEO Tony Khan announced that Silver & Reynolds, Top Flight, Aussie Open, and Castagnoli & Yuta will collide in a four-way tag team match on the March 3 episode of AEW Rampage.

Yuta and Castagnoli have clashed with Top Flight in the past; the duo was involved in eliminating Blackpool Combat Club from the Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Royale on the December 23 episode of AEW Rampage.
