AEW Dynamite (3/1) Results: Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match, Two Title Matches, MJF, And More

Welcome to Fightful’s live coverage of AEW Dynamite for March 1, 2023.

AEW Dynamite (3/1)

  • AEW All-Atlantic Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Big Bill

AEW All-Atlantic Championship: Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Big Bill

Big Bill Chokeslammed Cassidy ahead of the first commercial. Danhausen came out to neutralize the interference of Stokely Hathaway. Bill would go for Danhausen, and Cassidy would come to the rescue with an Orange Punch to the back of the knee. In the ring, orange hit three more Orange Punches, including one off the top rope, for the victory.

Winner and still champion: Orange Cassidy

– A Jon Moxley promo from last week after the show airs, where he Hypes up the Texas Death Match on Sunday.

– The Elite enter—the House of Black appears behind them. The lights go out. When they come back on, House of Black is holding the Trios Championship Belts.

Face of the Revolution Ladder Match: Konosuke Takeshita vs. Ortiz vs. Komander vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Eddie Kingston vs. AR Fox

A wild match that featured several dives. Kommander walked the ropes and delivered a corkscrew moon salt to the outside of the floor on the other competitors. Sammy Guevara dove onto Action Andretti with a Swanton Bomb through another Ladder. Konosuke Takeshita stopped from getting the win, and Hobbs dropped Takeshita, bending a ladder in the process. Hobbs climbed up and grabbed the brass ring for the victory. 

Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs 

Joe confronted Hobbs after the match. Wardlow came out to confront them both and wound up assaulting security. 

The Best Friends are not cleared to compete tonight, so Danhausen and Orange Cassidy will take their place in the Casino Battle Royale.

Chris Jericho vs. Peter Avalon 

Chris Jericho got a quick victory with a Codebreaker. After the match, Jericho beats up Peter, and Ricky Starks comes out for the save. Jericho sicks the Jericho Appreciation Society onto Starks. 

Winner: Chris Jericho

– Hangman Page cuts a promo about how he doesn’t like violence, but he will ensure Jon Moxley is never the same after Sunday. 

– Renee Paquette interviews Christian Cage. He challenges Jack Perry to a fight. A video is shown of Jack Perry digging a grave and a tombstone that has Christian Cage’s name on it. 

FTW Championship: HOOK (c) vs. Matt Hardy

One of the most competitive matches HOOK has had to date. Ethan Page tries to knock out HOOK with Stokely Hathaway’s cast. HOOK kicks out. Matt Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate and gets choked out with the Redrum.

Winner and still champion: HOOK

– The House of Black members are backstage cutting one final promo before Sunday and they leave the trios titles on the ground.

Toni Storm vs. Riho

A back and forth match. Toni Storm nearly gets to win after hair-marring Riho and hitting her with Sweet Cheeks Music, but Britt Baker is ringside and distracts Toni leading to Riho getting a roll-up victory. 

Winner: Riho 

The match starts off with the Blackpool Combat Club brawling with The Dark Order outside the ring. The ring eventually fills up with some more of the teams. Aussie Open eliminates The Kingdom, BCC eliminates Aussie Open. The Varsity Athletes come out and distract the Lucha Brothers leading to their elimination. Eventually, Dark Order comes back out to distract Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli, leading to their elimination. In the end, Danhausen eliminates The Butcher and The Blade. After the match, Cassidy & Danhausen get attacked by Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. The Gunns join the attack, but eventually, The Acclaimed come out to even the odds. 

Winners: Orange Cassidy and Danhausen 

A vignette hyping the upcoming Ironman match at Revolution airs. 

Renee Paquette interviews Bryan Danielson. Maxwell Jacob Friedman comes out too interrupt him but Danielson quickly Cuts him off and says that he has never fought for anything he’s wanted in life and that if he doesn’t fight for the championship on Sunday he will get his fucking head kicked in.
