Lawsuit Dropped Against Conor McGregor Stemming From Alleged Assault Incident Last Summer

A lawsuit against former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor, stemming from an alleged assault incident that happened on his yacht last summer in Ibiza, Spain has been dropped.

The Sunday World’s Shane Phelan reported on Wednesday that the woman who McGregor allegedly assaulted, Samantha Murphy, filed papers earlier this week to terminate the lawsuit against the Irishman. The alleged victim initially claimed that McGregor invited her onto his yacht last July, following his birthday celebration at the Ocean Beach Club in Ibiza. She then claimed he began to insult her appearance, then kicked her in the stomach, punched her in the face, and told the victim “I’m going to drown you, who do you think you are?”

She told police she had to jump in the water to flee the UFC star’s attack, where eventually a Red Cross boat took her back to shore. McGregor and his team have denied all of the accusations made against him. He’s set to make his Octagon return later this year against, Michael Chandler, after the pair coaches opposite one another on the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” which debuts this May on ESPN.
