First Fight Announced For UFC 216

The first fight is set for this coming Septembers UFC 216 card it will see Rick Glenn take on Gavin Tucker in a featherweight division affair.

Glenn (19-4-1) has won just one of the two fights he has competed in under the UFC banner, defeating Philippe Nover and suffering a defeat to Evan Dunham. Glenn is also a former World Series Of Fighting Featherweight Champion, defeating Georgi Karakhanyan at the WSOF 10 to win the gold. Glenn is currently undefeated on UFC pay-per-view cards, as his win over Nover came at UFC 208 earlier this year.

Tucker (10-0-0) has already earned a single victory in UFC competition, having defeated fellow featherweight Sam Sicilia by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 105. Tucker is also a veteran of the Extreme Cage Combat promotion, winning all seven fights he competed in during his time there. Tucker is currently undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and his undefeated streak has lasted over six years at this point.

UFC 216 takes place on Saturday, September 9 from Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
