Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane Pick
It’s hard trying to pick a winner in a fight that’s expected to be as closely fought as this one, but if we had to put money on one of these two, it would be on Jon Jones. One of the best light heavyweight MMA fighters of all time has recorded 26 wins in 27 fights and will look to make a statement in his first official fight as a heavyweight.
Jones’s experience and comprehensive skill set give him a slight advantage, but we shouldn’t forget that the last few performances he had close to his current weight weren’t as dominant as when he was lighter and younger. The American is a few months away from his 36th birthday, and many experts question how he will perform after a three-year absence from MMA.
It’s also expected for the fight to go the distance. Gane’s tactic could be to start outpointing the American after the first couple of rounds on account of Jones’ added weight. Currently, the over/under at most sportsbooks is at 4.5, with marginally better odds on over.
