Ric Flair says he doesn’t want to wrestle again, but he wishes he could redo his last match.
Flair, 73, returned to the ring for the first time since 2011 at the Ric Flair’s Last Match event on July 31. There, he teamed up with Andrade El Idolo and defeated Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. The WWE Hall of Famer passed out twice during the match due to dehydration, and he also faked a heart attack. Flair previously said “never say never” about returning to the ring.
Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Flair offered some clarification when he was discussing Tully Blanchard’s comment that he didn’t want to return to the ring. “The Nature Boy” stated that he’s not begging for another match; instead, he wished he could redo his last match. He also noted that he felt like his other comments were taken out of context.
“I wouldn’t recommend it again, either. I don’t know why they’re saying I’m begging for another match. What I’ve said to you repeatedly, I wish I could redo that match. I’m not begging for another match, I don’t want to wrestle again, I have no desire. I wish I had that match to do over again. [That’s] what I’ve said repeatedly. I just wish I could redo that [match],” Flair said.
Flair previously stated that he could wrestle again and be better than he was in The Last Match. Click here to see what he had to say.
On the same podcast, Flair stated that Steve Austin won’t be at the “Raw is XXX” anniversary show on January 23, but Hulk Hogan will be there. More information is available here.
