Hiroshi Tanahashi Renews Contract With NJPW

Another year, another contract renewal for Hiroshi Tanhashi.

Taking to his blog, Hiroshi Tanahashi revealed that he visited the New Japan offiices and renewed his contract with the company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tanahashi made his debut in NJPW in 1999, rising up the ranks to become The Ace of the company, reaching legendary status along the way. He is a former eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, two-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, and three-time IWGP United States Champion.

Tanahashi teamed with Keiji Muto & Shota Umino to defeat Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, & BUSHI at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.

He recently stated that he is still aiming to become champion again and that when he’s no longer aiming to be champion, that’s when he’ll retire. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

He is set to compete at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Yokohoma Arena and take part in the upcoming New Beginning events.
