Stacks Gets Promoted, Tyler Bate Returns, Roxanne Perez Defies The Odds | NXT Fight Size

Here’s your Fight Size update following WWE NXT on January 17, 2023:

– Tony D’Angelo discussed Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo’s growth but noted that the Dijak business didn’t end the way he wanted it to. D’Angelo told Lorenzo that his days of being a soldier are over, as it’s time for him to become a boss. He gave Lorenzo a jacket and welcomed him to the family.

– Javier Bernal came to the ring and started to play on his guitar. He was interrupted by the returning Tyler Bate, and they faced off. The former NXT UK Champion scored an impressive win.

– Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) came to the ring and discussed their upcoming title match against Roxanne Perez. They vowed to get revenge and defeat Perez, but the duo were interrupted by Lyra Valkyria. She noted that she would have won the battle royal if not for Cora Jade. They brawled, and Perez ran to the ring to even the odds. In the main event, Perez and Valkyria took on Dolin and Jayne. Cora Jade interfered and ripped up Valkyria. She persevered and took the fight to Jade at ringside, They brawled to the back, leaving Perez by herself. Perez overcame the odds and pinned Dolin for the win.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams faced Axiom and Apollo Crews. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion scored the hard-fought win by pinning Hayes.

Dijak discussed his upcoming match with NXT North American Champion Wes Lee and stated that Lee had no shot of leaving Vengeance Day with the title. He said that it would be judgment day for Lee.

Sol Ruca faced Alba Fyre, but a distraction from Isla Dawn helped Ruca clinch the win. Fyre attacked Dawn backstage later in the show.

– Indi Hartwell kicked Tiffany Stratton out of her locker room and seemingly stood up for the women’s division. Stratton vowed to show them that she’s the one superstar of them all.

Ivy Nile scolded the Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) for losing focus and warned them not to make the same mistake now that they’re in Jinder Mahal’s crosshairs. 

– Andre Chase confronted Duke Hudson and played footage of a secretly recorded conversation where Hudson criticized him. Hudson said it was taken out of context. He then shifted the focus to Thea Hail’s upcoming match. She then took on Valentina Feroz. Elektra Lopez came to ringside during the match. Amid a chaotic end to the match, when Lopez tried to give Feroz some brass knuckles, Hail pinned Feroz to win her first match in NXT.

– Stevie Turner recapped the women’s battle royal and noted that it would have turned out differently if she was involved. She also teased her looming debut.

– In an interview, Grayson Waller discussed his loss to Bron Breakker and made it clear that there’s nowhere he’d rather be than locked in a cage with the champion. Waller pulled out an NXT Championship of his own to express his belief that he is the true champion.

Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang battled Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen. Late in the match, doctors checked on Jensen after he got slammed on some bare flooring. Kiana James came out, as she was clearly concerned. Left by himself, Briggs was overwhelmed by Gallus, and the two emerged victorious. Later in the show, Fallon Henley confronted him about his budding relationship with James. Near the end of the show, Henley apologized to Jensen and said she’d try to make it work with James. She noted that she got them a tag team match for next week.

The New Day came to the ring and noted that they are done with Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince). The NXT Tag Team Champions announced that they will defend the titles against Gallus at NXT Vengeance Day. Pretty Deadly interrupted, and Gallus came to the ring as well, leading to a chaotic three-team brawl. WWE then announced a three-way match for NXT Vengeance Day.

NXT Champion Bron Breakker shared his thoughts on his win over Grayson Waller and noted that he wanted a more decisive victory. He stated that all doubters will be silenced at NXT Vengeance Day., where he promised that there will be a decisive winner.

– In an NXT Exclusive, Sol Ruca discussed her win against Alba Fyre and noted that she took advantage of the opportunity that presented itself when Fyre got distracted.
