Here is your post-Monday Night Raw fight size update for January 16, 2023:

– Elias looked back on his 2022 and expressed his interest in competing in the Royal Rumble. He bumped into MVP, who told him not to bother Adam Pearce because the winner of the Royal Rumble is a done deal. MVP told him he earned a match with his pick for the winner of the Royal Rumble, who MVP later revealed as Omos. The giant overpowered Elias and, thanks to some help from MVP, defeated Elias.

– Akira Tozawa told Adam Perace he wanted a spot in the Royal Rumble and asked for an opportunity to earn it. Pearce agreed to give him a match. That bout turned out to be against Bronson Reed, and while Tozawa delivered a valiant effort, Reed scored the victory in his first match since his return.

Raw Women’s Championship Bianca Belair returned and challenged Alexa Bliss to a match at WWE Royal Rumble. The two foes brawled, and Bliss gained the upper hand when Uncle Howdy distracted Belair, and Bliss floored her with a DDT.

– Thanks to plenty of assistance from MVP and Omos, Bobby Lashley defeated Seth Rollins, Baron Corbin, Finn Balor, The Miz, and Dolph Ziggler to earn a shot at the WWE United States Championship.

Another video package highlighted Cody Rhodes’ return to the ring and focused on his training. He announced that he is returning at the Royal Rumble.

The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) battled Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in a hard-fought bout. MVP came to ringside during the match and interfered in the bout. Despite his efforts, the Street Profits still clinched the win.

– The Usos and Solo Sikoa kicked off the show. The Usos discussed their recent success and stated that they have big plans for next week, including an Acknowledgement Ceremomy for Roman Reigns. The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley ) interrupted, and Balor thanked “the ex-con” Dominik for helping them clinch the win last week. Priest vowed to beat The Usos to win the gold next week. Dominik implied that The Usos are scared of The Judgment Day, but the champions promised to welcome them to the Uso Penitentiary. Dominik called Sikoa a wannabe, and he tried to step up, but Ripley got in his face. The two sides then brawled. Mustafa Ali showed up and attacked Sikoa.

Several legends are set to appear on next week’s episode of WWE Raw.

Solo Sikoa defeated Mustafa Ali. During the match, The Usos came to ringside, but Kevin Owens came to ringside and brawled with them. Owens attacked Sikoa after the match and continued to brawl with The Usos.

– The Alpha Academy (Otis and Chad Gable) confronted The Judgment Day backstage, setting up a match between the duos. Dominik warned Gable that he spent all day “pumping iron”. The two teams then clashed, and thanks to a timely assist from Rhea Ripley, the Judgment Day duo picked up the impressive victory.

– Becky Lynch called out Bayley and called her a Karen. Bayley, alongside Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, said Lynch was bitter after she lost their previous match. Lynch stated that Bayley claimed in 2015, but Bayley said she ran NXT while Lynch stole her spot. Bayley claimed that everything Lynch has should have been hers. Lynch emphasized her love for the business and noted that Bayley blames everyone else when things go wrong. Bayley claimed that she doesn’t need Kai and SKY, and Lynch responded by challenging her to a Steel Cage Match.

– Mustafa Ali approached Dolph Ziggler and noted that he gets opportunities handed to him. Ziggler said he didn’t have time for Ali, who blindsided him in an effort to get his attention.

“Michin” Mia Yim took on IYO SKY. Candice LeRae accompanied Michin to the ring, hoping to even the odds with Bayley and Dakota Kai also at ringside.In the end, a distraction from LeRae helped Michin pick up the win. LeRae then made the save when Kai attacked LeRae after the match.

– Rhea Ripley told everyone to acknowledge her.

– On Raw Talk, Kevin Owens promised to send a message to Roman Reigns and The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown. 

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Bobby Lashley discussed his win in the six-way match and looked forward to his match with Austin Theory. Meanwhile, Theory gave Lashley credit for his victory, but he made it clear that he won’t back down from a fight. He vowed to pu Lashley in the past next week.
