Tony Schiavone says he enjoyed having the chance to work with Tully Blanchard again.
Schiavone and Blanchard previously worked together during their days in Jim Crockett Promotions. Many years later, they reunited ih All Elite Wrestling. Schiavone signed with the company as a broadcaster in 2019, while Blanchard joined the company as Shawn Spears’ exclusive advisor. He later aligned with FTR, and they won the AEW World Tag Team Championship during this run, but the duo eventually fired him. Blanchard later formed Tully Blanchard Enterprises in ROH, but Prince Nana announced that he acquired the group at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022. Blanchard hasn’t appeared on AEW or ROH programming since the show.
Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Schiavone commented on Blanchard saying his wrestling career is “probably over” after the end of his time with AEW and ROH. He made it clear that he enjoyed having the opportunity to work with Blanchard again. Schiavone also praised Blanchard as a talent and stated that he wished the legend the best.
“It was fun for me being able to work with him again. I really enjoyed it, and I’ve always enjoyed working with Tully. He was, as we have seen, as we have been watching over the years here on ‘What Happened When’, he was a great talent. I get it. I get that some people want people to remember them as they used to be and not as they are now. Also, he’s got a very important job, working in a prison, working with inmates, trying to get their live back on track. Kudos to him for that. So I get it, and I wish him the best. It was great being able to work with him,” Schiavone said.
