Kurt Angle On Stephanie McMahon’s WWE Resignation: ‘She Was A Great Employer, Reminded Me Of Vince’
Kurt Angle comments on Stephanie McMahon resigning from WWE and gives his thoughts on other rumors concerning a potential WWE sale.
Kurt Angle worked with Stephanie McMahon for many years, even briefly being involved in a love triangle storyline with Stephanie and Triple H in 2000. However, Stephanie McMahon recently resigned from WWE, and on the latest episode of his podcast, Kurt Angle said he was surprised to see her leave; it was a move he never thought he would see.
“I’m surprised. I didn’t expect Stephanie to resign,” said Angle on the latest Kurt Angle Show. ” I’m not sure if she did it because of her father, but she is a classy woman. She was a great employer. she reminded me a lot of Vince in many ways. I think that’s why he trusted the company with her, but I’m just really surprised that she resigned.”
Concerning rumors that WWE will sell to a Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, Angle says that while he understands people’s concerns, he believes Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, and Triple H will do what’s best for the company.
There are reports that Tony and Shad Khan’s names are also in the pool of possible buyers, and there is interest in a potential WWE/AEW merger on their behalf.
Speaking on the topic of AEW’s owner being in the pool of potential buyers, Kurt Angle laughed that wrestling would be right back in the same position before AEW emerged, with one company having a monopoly over wrestling.
“Oh, God, man. Tony Khan would own all of it… A monopoly, yes. The same thing is what we did with Vince McMahon before AEW came in.”
Kurt Angle commented on his experiences wrestling in Saudi Arabia and said he would take a $3 million payoff for one match in Saudi Arabia.
