Dax Harwood Says FTR Compensated Mike Posey For Bleeding During Dog Collar Match

At ROH Final Battle, FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) took on The Briscoes (Mark & Jay Briscoe) in a dog collar match.

In one of the most memorable moments of the match, Jay pulls referee Mike Posey in the way of a punch with the dog collar shot from Dax, busting Posey open. Posey’s face with crimson red after being knocked by Harwood.

Speaking on his FTR podcast with Matt Koon, Dax heaped praise on Posey for his involvement in the spot.

“I have thanked Posey so many times for that moment because it made our match. The one little moment took it from a great match to an unforgettable match. He was fucking ready to go with that. I asked him, ‘I have this idea, if you don’t feel comfortable, I don’t blame you. If you don’t want to do it, I totally understand. Here’s my idea.’ I told him, and he said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ ‘Have you ever bled before?’ ‘No, not really, but I’m down to do it,'” Dax recalled.

Dax recapped the spot for fans and how it was set up with Jay waving off Posey before pulling him in to take the punch. Dax noted that Posey received eight stitches after the bout.

Dax continued, revealing he and Cash compensated Posey for putting his body on the line for them.

“I don’t think he would mind if I told you this, because he tried to talk us out of it, but me and Cash, because it meant so much to the match and our legacy and the legacy of that trilogy, that he did that for us and he trusted us to do that and he wanted to be a part of it. Me and Cash wanted to compensate him for that. We made sure that money was taken out of our checks and sent to him and his family before Christmas. I could never thank him enough for what he did for that match, our trilogy, and me and Cash’s career. I hope he knows that the money means nothing, but the love I have for him and what he did is way more than that,” he said.

The Briscoes would end up victorious in the double dog collar match, winning the ROH Tag Team Championships for the thirteenth time.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Dax discussed FTR challenging The Acclaimed for the AEW Tag Team Titles and how they didn’t want the titles at that time. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
