Reby Hardy On Potential In-Ring Return: I’m Pretty Busy, Wrestling Is Sort Of An Afterthought

Reby Hardy comments on potentially returning to the ring.

Hardy had an active career in the wrestling world for several years. She worked for Lucha Libre USA and Shine Wrestling, among other promotions, before she was later featured alongside her husband, Matt Hardy, in TNA. Reby left TNA alongside Matt and Jeff Hardy in 2017, and she has been mostly absent from wrestling ever since. She appeared during Matt’s match against Jeff Jarrett at WrestleCade SuperShow on November 26.

Speaking with T.J. Stephens of PWMania.com, Reby was asked whether there’s a chance fans could see her return to the ring and team up with Matt. She responded by noting that her appearance at WrestleCade was her first time in a public ring in over five years. Reby also stated there had been some talk about doing an intergender match against Jeff and Karen Jarrett, but they fizzled out. She noted that, her days tagging with Matt on the independent scene might be over, but in wrestling, you never say never.

“So you know, this is crazy. Just a couple weeks ago, right after Thanksgiving here, I did a show and it was my literal first time in a public ring in over five years. That was versus Jeff Jarrett there, I was managing Matt. There was some talks of possibly doing some sort of intergender tag match with his girl [Karen] and me and Matt, but, I wouldn’t go that crazy. I wouldn’t go that crazy but I would say never say never. You know, our days as an independent tag team, I think maybe at an end, unless, I could go back to wearing the babies on my back and stuff,” Hardy said.

Reby continued by describing how she feels her place in wrestling is behind the scenes. She cited her previous work on vignettes and other videos. Specifically, she noted that she was involved with the videos leading up to Matt’s AEW debut. Reby also noted that she’s busy with other responsibilities, both in her personal and professional life, so wrestling is an “afterthought” these days.

“I feel like my place in wrestling is more behind the scenes at this point. I produced a ton of WWE vignettes and in video footage, TNA stuff, a lot of stuff that led up to the AEW, debut stuff for AEW. So I feel like a lot of people don’t realize that a lot of that stuff was like, you know, my producing, my filmmaking, my ideas. That’s where I kind of have the best time in wrestling as of now, aside from the musical part of, you know, writing entrance themes and stuff, but, you know, I’m pretty busy. You know, I got the four kids, I homeschool the four kids, I have a legitimate day job, I’ve got my content creation, it’s a lot going on. And wrestling is sort of an afterthought nowadays, because again, you know, I’m old and fat and ugly,” she said.

Matt Hardy recently looked back on Jeff Hardy’s first world title win in WWE. Check out his comments here.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Matt recalled how there had been talks of a world title run with his “Broken” character in TNA. Click here to see what he had to say.
