Here is your post-AEW Dynamite fight size update for Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Here is your post-AEW Dynamite fight size update for Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

– In the main event, Jamie Hayter defeated Hikaru Shida to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship. When Hayter, Britt Baker, and Rebel attacked Shida after the match, Toni Storm came to the ring, but the numbers weren’t in her favor until Saraya came down and took the fight to Baker and her allies.

– Ricky Starks kicked off show and promised to eventually become “the man” in AEW. Chris Jericho interrupted and stated that Starks will be a world champion someday, but he needs some guidance. He offered Starks a spot in the Jericho Appreciation Society. Starks turned him down, and Jericho didn’t take the rejection well, as the JAS ganged up on Starks until Action Andretti made the save.

– Still infuriated by his loss to Andretti last week, Chris Jericho blindsided the newcomer with a scorching fireball.

The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) defeated Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) in a No Disqualification Match. With the win, Omega and the Young Bucks trimmed their deficit to 3-2. Death Triangle somewhat won the night, though, as they left The Elite lying with a brutal post-match attack.

– AEW World Champion MJF commented on his confrontation with Bryan Danielson last week. He noted that Danielson might want to eat off MJF’s stable, but “The American Dragon” will eat than he wants and more than he deserves.

– The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) bent the rules and scored a shocking upset win over FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler).

– Rick Ross appeared on the show, supposedly with the intention to mediate the meeting between Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee. Instead, he aligned with Strickland’s new stable, Mogul Affiliates, which includes Parker Boudreaux and a mystery man. Strickland left his former partner down and out with a Swerve Stomp through a cinder block.

– Bryan Danielson made it clear that MJF’s actions have consequences. He called the AEW World Champion out, and Ethan Page, alongside Stokely Hathaway, answered instead. Page expressed his belief that he deserves a title shot, and he told Danielson he’d turn him into a vegetable. Hathaway called Danielson a “raggedy bitch” before Page agreed to face Danielson next week.
