‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan Says He Tackled A Home Intruder, Detained Him With A Gun
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan stopped an intruder.
Duggan told Wrestling Inc that an intruder broke into his home on December 8, entering through the front door. Duggan said he took the man down and held him at gunpoint with a .44 caliber pistol.
Duggan said he heard people yelling and thought more people were coming. The intruder, who Duggan said was in his mid-20s, was described as “hysterically frightened,” claimed that people from a nearby home were coming after him to kill him.
Duggan kept the intruder close and had his gun in his lap until the police arrived.
According to Duggan, the intruder was fleeing individuals related to a separate legal matter and seeking refuge. The intruder reportedly pounded on multiple other doors before climbing over the Duggans’ fence and entering through their unlocked door. No charges were pressed by Duggan.
“Thank God we didn’t shoot him,” Duggan said.
Jim and his wife Debra were both safe.
Duggan has been battling cancer over the years, but finished radiation treatment in August.
