“Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series” Coming To UFC Fight Pass
If you are somebody who cannot get enough MMA in their lifetime, then get ready for weekly MMA action from the UFC.
Launching this July will be “Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series,” which is intended to give up and coming fighters an opportunity to compete for a potential UFC job. The show will also give fighters who have seen a career downturn get one more shot at the big stage.
“This sport continues to get bigger all over the world, and the more fights we can put on, the more talent we can find, the better the events will be for the fans,” UFC President Dana White said in a press release. “I love looking for up-and-coming talent. This show’s going to give us another opportunity to bring in young fighters who we think have potential to make it in the UFC or maybe even one day become world champions. It’ll also give some fighters who might be in a slump or on their way out of the organization an opportunity for that last shot. I truly can’t watch enough fights and I think our fans will love this new FIGHT PASS show.”
The show is going to be shot at the UFC Ultimate Fighter Gym in Las Vegas, with UFC matchmakers Sean Shelby and Nick Maynard joining UFC President Dana White each week.
Male and female fighters will take part in the event and these are going to be professional MMA bouts, not exhibition fights like on TUF, so wins and losses will count towards fighter records.
No fighters or bouts have been announced for the event, which will air live for the first time on Tuesday, July 11.
