Katsuyori Shibata vs. Tom Lawlor Announced For 12/28 Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye Event
Katsuyori Shibata’s return is set.
Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye and Ganryujima announced that Katsuyori Shibata will take on Tom Lawlor on December 28. The bout will be contested under UWF rules. UWF rules state matches can end via KO, TKO, submission, or points.
Josh Barnett and Melvin Manhoef have also been announced for the event.
According to Tokyo Sports, Antonio Inoki instructed in his will that his Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye event be resurrected. Inoki passed away on October 1.

Shibata most recently wrestled on November 4 episode of AEW Rampage, unsuccessfully challenging Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship. He holds a 4-11-1 MMA record and has not fought since August 2011.
Lawlor has been active in NJPW and competed in the 2022 G1 Climax. He holds an 11-8, 1 NC MMA record and has not fought since June 2021.
