Lio Rush And YOH Win NJPW Super Junior Tag League 2022
2022 NJPW Super Junior Tag League champions crowned.
Lio Rush & YOH won the 2022 Super Junior Tag League, defeating Chris Bey & Ace Austin in the finals on December 14 at NJPW World Tag League and Super Junior Tag League finals.
The finish saw Rush hit a splash on Austin after wiping out Bey with a tope, followed by YOH hitting the direct drive on Austin for the victory.
By winning the Super Junior Tag League, Lio Rush & YOH will challenge Catch 2/2 (TJP & Francesco Akira) for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17. This marked the first time Lio Rush & YOH have won Super Junior Tag League. YOH has won Super Junior Tag League four times in total, previously winning in 2017, 2018, and 2019 alongside SHO.
Catch 2/2 defeated Rush & YOH on the opening night of the Super Junior Tag League tournament.
