ROH World Title Match Set For ROH Final Battle 2022, Stipulation Revealed
The first match has been announced for the upcoming Final Battle pay-per-view.
The long-standing feud between the Jericho Appreciation Society and the Blackpool Combat Club is set to roll on at Final Battle, as Jericho is set to face Claudio Castagnoli in a rematch for the Ring Of Honor World Championship. The two originally faced off at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam back in September. In that match, Claudio lost the title to Jericho, who has held it ever since.
The match comes about after Jericho kicked off tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage. In a promo, Jericho was bragging about being the greatest Ring Of Honor Champion ever. Castagnoli then interrupted him and challenged Jericho to a ROH Title rematch. At first, Jericho denied Castagnoli the opportunity until Matt Menard proposed an idea. Menard suggested that Castagnoli should get another crack at Jericho and the ROH Title, but if he loses yet again, then he should be forced to join the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Castagnoli was reluctant at first, but eventually accepted the stipulation.
