Alan Angels discusses joining Violent By Design after his lengthy run with the Dark Order.
Angels was featured as a member of the Dark Order in All Elite Wrestling after he joined the group in 2020. He continued to compete alongside the stable until he left the company after his contract expired on June 30. Angels then challenged Mike Bailey for the IMPACT X-Division Championship in July and wrestled in the tournament for the title in October. He made his return to IMPACT on the November 3 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, where he was revealed as a new member of Violent By Design.
Speaking on the Paltrocast With Darren Paltrowitz, Angels was asked if he had any hesitation about joining another faction after his previous run with Dark Order. He joked that he might have had a little PTSD, but he views this new opportunity as a chance to potentially stand out and showcase his skills.
“A little bit. I think I might have a little PTSD just from being in the Dark Order, but the thing about the Dark Order is there’s so many people. It’s very easy to get lost in the shuffle, and all those guys are so talented. Like I said, it’s just easy to get lost in the shuffle. With this, though, Violent By Design, now there’s only three of us. So I feel like there’s an opportunity for me to take a bigger role in the faction and showcase what I can do and as a promo, and just as a talent in general. So I’m super excited for it,” Angels said.
When Paltrowitz noted that Angels isn’t repeating history, as the group has a different dynamic, Angels agreed and emphasized that each member of the faction as an important role. He stated that Violent By Design feels like a main-event stable.
“It does have a very different feel. It feels like we’re a main-event faction. We each have our own important role in the group,” Angels said.
