Ricky Starks Wants ‘Touch The Sky’ By Kanye West As His Theme For At Least One Match

I gotta testify…

Ricky Starks is a longtime Kanye West fan who has used his themes during his independent run. Starks has his own theme in AEW, but with Tony Khan not being afraid to acquire the licensing rights for songs, Starks has made it a goal to use “Touch The Sky” by Kanye as a theme for at least one match.

“My goal is to get the rights to play Touch The Sky at least once for one of my matches. That’s the goal. I’m putting it out there. I’m manifesting this happening. That’s what I want out of this whole thing. The day that I get that, I’m pretty much going to set Twitter on fire,” Starks said during an appearance on Watching The Throne podcast.

Khan most recently got the rights to “Carry On Wayward Son” by Kansas for The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) to use.

Explaining why he used “Touch The Sky” on the Independent scene, Ricky said, “That came from the fact that, I had to watch the music video again. I heard the song in a movie and I had never thought to think of it in that type of light. I ended up using it as my theme song and it kind of took off from there in terms, I’ll meet other Kanye West fans and I’ll tell them my entrance and they immediately start singing Touch The Sky. It’s real stadium music.”

Starks is set to compete on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite when he takes on Ethan Page in the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. The winner of the tournament will face AEW World Champion MJF at AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
