UFC Veteran Faces Former Bellator Champ In FNG 68 Main Event

A star studded main event will headline the upcoming Fight Nights Global 68 card as UFC veteran Nikita Krylov takes on former Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Champion Emanuel Newton.

Krylov (21-5-0) is going to be competing for the first time since leaving the UFC, which came after a loss to Misha Cirkunov at UFC 206. Krylov did win six of nine fights under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over Walt Harris, Cody Donovan, Stanislav Nedkov, Marcos Rogerio De Lima, Francimar Barroso and Ed Herman. Krylov will also be competing in Russia for the first time in just over four years, with his last appearance in the country coming at M-1 Challenge 38.

Newton (26-12-1) has won just one of his last six fights, with that lone win coming over fellow Bellator MMA veteran Matt Baker at a Z Promotions event. Newton won the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Title when he defeated King Mo at Bellator 106 and he would defend it three times before losing it to Liam McGeary. Newton hasn’t earned a victory in well over a year and he is going to be entering this fight on a two fight losing streak.

Fight Nights Global 68 takes place on Friday, June 2 from the Yubileyney Sports Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia with Nikita Krylov and Emanuel Newton headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
