WWE SmackDown

– Jinder Mahal made his return to WWE TV and lost to Braun Strowman in a first-round match in the SmackDown World Cup.

– In an interview, LA Knight called his omission from the SmackDown World Cup a major fumble. Bray Wyatt interrupted and introduced himself. He said he sees the anger within Knight, and he understands it. Wyatt noted that he’s been pretending that he’s not proud of the things he does, but he doesn’t know if that’s true. He asked Knight how far he’s willing to go in order to get respect. Knight told Wyatt to go play with his puppets. Wyatt then dropped him with a headbutt.

– SmackDown kicked off with a buzzworthy title match, as The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) challenged The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. With a win, The Usos would set themselves up to break The New Day’s record for the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history. Jimmy and Jey Uso ultimately scored the victory.

– B-Fab made her main roster in-ring debut when she faced Zelina Vega in a singles match. She previously wrestled during her time in NXT. The Viking Raiders and Sarah Logan came to the ring before the match started and laid everyone out, including the members of Legado del Fantasma and Hit Row at ringside.

The SmackDown World Cup began with a first-round bout between Shinsuke Nakamura and Santos Escobar. Thanks to some interference from Cruz Del Toro, Escobar clinched the win with an avalanche Phantom Driver.

A Six-Pack Challenge determined the next contender for SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Shotzi faced Liv Morgan, Lacey Evans, Xia Li, Sonya Deville, and Raquel Rodriguez. Shotzi won the match to earn a shot at Rousey’s title.

– After the bell, Tenille Dashwood congratulated Shotzi and wondered where Madcap Moss was. Shayna Baszler confronted Shotzi and told her that Rousey would give her the beating of a lifetime. Shotzi fired back by saying Rousey has never faced anyone like her. Rousey walked up, and Baszler choked Shotzi out from behind.

– Roman Reigns and The Bloodline (sans Sami Zayn) came to the ring for a “special moment.” Before he could say much, Ridge Holland, Butch interrupted, as they wanted to fight. Sheamus made his return and joined the duo. The Bloodline initially had the upper hand, but Drew McIntyre came to the ring to even the odds. The two groups brawled to end the show.

Ricochet discussed his path forward in the SmackDown World Cup; he said that he wants to take back what’s his. He will face Mustafa Ali in a first-round match. WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther interrupted Ricochet and stated that he’d be happy to beat him again. 

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Santos Escobar expressed hs confidence that he will advance to the next round of the SmackDown World Cup.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Tyrese Haliburton acknowledged Roman Reigns.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Lacey Evans stated that she’s done trying to please eveyone, and she’s going back to basics.

AEW Rampage

– Orange Cassidy beat Lee Johnson to retain the AEW All-Atlantic Championship. Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor helped him overcome an attempted post-match attack by Cole Karter.

– With a timely assist from John Silver, Bandido defeated RUSH to advance to the next round in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Tony Khan subsequently announced that Bandido ia All Elite.

– Despite a valiant effort from Dante Martin, Brian Cage defeated him to move on to the next round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

– Another vignette teased the House of Black’s return.

– Lee Moriarty made it clear that he wants to win some gold, and FTW Champion HOOK confronted him.

– Nyla Rose held defeated Kayla Sparks and got into a brawl with TBS Champion Jade Cargill.

Jungle Boy challenged Luchasaurus to a Steel Cage Match at AEW Full Gear. Luchasaurus proceeded to attack his former tag team partner.

– Jake Hager approached Claudio Castagnoli backstage and tried to recruit him to the Jericho Appreciation Society. 

– PAC told his Death Triangle teammates, Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo, that they gave to defend their AEW World Trios Championships by any means necessary.
